So, for today’s face I was feeling inspired by a recent “negative cat eye” that Kat Von D posted Here
So, before someone says “yours looks nothing like hers” I know, and that’s the point. It’s inspired, not a recreation. Also, I’m still playing around with my new camera. If anyone has tips and tricks on the Sony a5000, I’m all ears.
I have on my favorite wolf tee today (wolves are my all time favorite animals FYI) so I was feeling a messy, yet “put together” kind of look.
For my eyes I did use the cool quad from the Kat Von D Shade+ Light eye palette. I took a small angled brush and created a cat eye with the dark taupe shade and left the space inside “negative.” I then filled in that space with the Nyx white vinyl liner, which is alright, but I did end up having to go back over it with my jumbo pencil in “milk” to even it out a bit. I outlined the outside of the original cat eye shape with the black from the cool quad, and then buffed it out with the gray shade and filled in the rest of my eye with the dark taupe shade.
I used the white shade to blend out the outside edges/highlight my brow bone. I actually used “tease” by Urban Decay on my lower lash line after lining my water line top and bottom with Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in “perversion.” I smudged it out with tease and the dark taupe shade and took the taupe shade out at the corner and filled my inner corner with “polyester bride” by Urban Decay. I almost went for false lashes, but stuck with a couple coats of mascara because I decided big lashes would distract from the shape of the shadows.
My brows are Nyx’s tame and frame brow pomade in “espresso” set with Hard Candy’s brows now in medium/dark.
Face: Estee Lauder Double Wear in “Cool Bone” with 2 pumps of manic panic dreamtone. LA Girl concealer in “porcelain” mixed with Nyx’s lavender concealer is under my eyes set with Physicians Formula Correcting powder all over my face.
Contour is Lunatick Labs cool contour kit
Blush is Wet n Wild’s blush in “pearlescent pink” (perfect cool toned pink for fair skin)
Highlight is The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer
Lipstick is Kat Von D’s “Lolita.” Apparently, I have the “bad” batch, but I feel like I have the good batch of this color. I love it.
Yes, my hair is a bit wild and messy today. I felt it tied the look together.
Well, that’s my face for today. As always, thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoyed this post!
