Wet n Wild Milano Palette

wet n wild milano

Normally, I post swatches with reviews on Saturdays, but I’m feeling spontaneous today. I’m thinking about doing a “palette love” post on Saturday where I pull a palette out of my collection and create a look with it? Let me know if you all would be interested in that! The palettes I have in mind are Revealed (1 or 2), Innerstellar, the Pulp Fiction Urban Decay palette, or my Too Faced Natural eyes palette. Comment down below if you’re interested and what you would wanna see!

Hey lovelies,

Guess what I found? The neutral Wet n Wild palette that I have been searching high and low for! I discovered one Walgreens in my city that had a display for them, but was always sold out of them. Well, I got lucky and went there on a day when they had gotten some in stock.

I know that I reviewed the “Paris Runway” version of this palette and wasn’t too impressed. I really had my heart set on the neutral one because Hollie from Hollieeatslipstick reviewed it and loved it, and I fell in love with it as well.

Well, I was in Walgreens and noticed that the Milano palette was in stock! I didn’t ask questions, I just bought it. At $8, it’s hardly a bank breaker. That and I believe these are not permanent? I’ve missed out on so many limited edition palettes that I just decided to add this one to my collection as well.

I purchased this palette myself, and all opinions are my own. 🙂

Alright, so a quick overview of the palette:

Price: $8
Shades: 10
What it claims: to have a good range of matte and shimmers to create neutral looks
Did it deliver: yes

IMG_5828

If you read my review on the Paris Runway palette (the cool toned version from this line) I didn’t have great things to say about the shade range. The quality was there, but the darker shades looked the same to me and on the eyes when blended out.

However, the neutral companion has a nice shade range that I love! There are actually mattes in this one, including a nice transition shade and a crease shade. There are 3 shades that are matte, a light brown, dark brown, and a black. The first cream shade is a bit more of a satin matte, but is a nice brow bone highlight or base shade.

I love this palette 1000% more than the Paris Runway one.

I don’t feel I should go too into detail again since I did a review of the other one (see that review here), but the quality is amazing for a drugstore palette. The shades are pigmented and blend easily. The shadows feel very buttery to the touch.

There’s a bit of fallout with a few of the very shimmery shades, but that’s common when there’s a lot of shimmer and glitter in an eyeshadow.

Tip: use a glitter primer (elf makes one for $2) prior to putting on a shimmery shade to really make the shade stand out and gleam from the dang sky! Also, putting on concealer and setting powder under the eyes before applying eyeshadow makes it easy to brush away any fallout that can occur with eyeshadows. Putting a matte shade on the lids after priming can help blend shadows out as well!

Overall thoughts: I’m so impressed with this palette and happy I finally found it! The Paris Runway palette might not be my style, but this one is beautiful and makes my neutral heart happy. The matte shades blend really well and there’s not too much fallout (but there was a bit) and they aren’t chalky.

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed this quick review with swatches!

Spring Vibes: Milani Lip Intense

milani lip intense

Hey beauties,

First off, I’ve started a new book! I feel like I’m the last person to read this, but so far I’m enjoying it! Mindy Kaling is so real and blunt, much like myself. She’s very relatable.

Anyway, I have been rotating my products out a bit to show some love to older products, and I stumbled upon some lip products I bought on clearance a few months back. They’re not new or anything, but I feel they’re worth mentioning. Milani makes some of my favorite lip products, drugstore or high end.

I bought these 3 shades on clearance during the Winter knowing I would pull them out in the Spring.

These Milani lip intense glosses aren’t new, but they are worth mentioning. I’m not a glossy kind of person, I really just don’t enjoy sticky things on my lips. These feel really nice on my lips though and even though they aren’t long lasting, they’re beautiful and feel nice and light on the lips.

The pigmentation is also really nice as well!

I have the shades Fiery Coral, Violet Addict, and Red Extreme. All 3 of these shades are very bright and appropriate for Spring and Summer. I will admit that Fiery Coral is not really my kind of shade, but it is really pretty.

I mentioned before that these aren’t long lasting, but they do last a bit without having to reapply. They also have a very nice finish, not too glossy, not matte, not sticky. Perfect for days when you want something “in between” matte and glossy.

If you have these, let me know your thoughts on them!
Also, let me know if you enjoy posts like these where I kinda “shop” my collection and put together posts like this.

As always, thanks for stopping by and make sure to stick around if you want!

Picture Perfect? New Elf Studio Brushes + Ultimate Kabuki Brush

elf contour brush

elf ultimate kabuki

Hey lovelies, today I have a review!

Alright, so can we just talk about how amazing Elf (eyes lips face) Cosmetics is for a second? They are so affordable, cruelty free (many products are vegan friendly as well), and many things are incredible! I say many because I have tried some dud products from them, but I also have some forever holy grail items by their brand.

One of my favorite things being their Studio Line brushes. I own quite a few from face to eye brushes…most of them are so amazing and are about $3-6 each. I’m not a “sigma” or “mac 217” kind of gal, I like my brushes to be great quality, yet affordable. Personally, I can spend $25 on way cooler things than a brush. However, brushes are important and nessecary in my collection, so I don’t like to skimp on quality.

You all can probably imagine my excitement when Elf not only released their new ultimate kabuki brush, but also announced the release of 3 new studio brushes, including a contour brush!
That’s right, a true contour brush at a wallet busting $6.

And yes, I bought all 3 of the new brushes and the ultimate kabuki brush. Judge me if you wish, but I will admit that I’m still trying to build up my brush collection. I just started adding brushes to my routine possibly 2 years ago, and I started out with 2 no name drugstore brushes that I used for everything.

The 3 new brushes that came out a few weeks ago include a contour brush, a brow duo brush, and a blending brush. My overview today is about all 3 of the new brushes and the ultimate kabuki brush, which I’ve had for a few months now. It should be noted that the studio line from elf is vegan friendly, but the essentials line is not as far as I know. Also, I am not sponsored by elf, and these are my honest opinions. I purchased these brushes myself with my money.

Prices: Duo Brow Brush: $3
Blending Brush: $6
Contour Brush: $6
Ultimate Kabuki: $10

Brow Duo Brush This handy little guy comes with an angled brush side and a small spoolie side to brush and shape brows. I really like this duo! The spoolie is small so it really gets into the brow hairs and brushes them out, and the small angled brush is soft, yet stiff enough to give a natural look to the brows while filling them in. If you have sparse brows like myself and need a bit of “help” creating what looks like hair, this does the job well. I’m still blown away that this only costs $3!

Blending Brush If I’m completely honest for a second, this is probably my favorite brush in this post. I adore this brush. It’s so soft, and the angle in it allows for a precise contour if you want a light contour that day, or you can use it to blend out the contour you’ve already laid down. I’ve used it to blend cream and powder contours, blushes, liquid highlighters…this brush is awesome. Even if you read this post and decide you have enough brushes, you may need to add this one. I am head over heels in love with it.

Contour Brush This brush surprised me. I was convinced I couldn’t like any contour brush more than my Crown Deluxe Contour brush, but this brush comes close to my love for it. This brush is soft, but not too soft. It will also give you an extreme contour, so beware because it does pick up a lot of product because the hairs are so close together and short. On days when I want a darker contour I reach for this brush, but I still find myself reaching for my Crown brush more often because I don’t like a stark contour except for date night when I know I’m going to be somewhere with a weird lighting.

Ultimate Kabuki Brush I’m not gonna lie, I had no idea what the heck I was going to use this brush for at first when I got it. I’ve had to play around with it a bit, but it’s actually a pretty awesome brush and can be used multiple ways. This brush is really dense. I’ve used it to pat on blush, to apply highlight (use the flat sides), and to clean up my face if I’ve had fallout from shadows or anything. This can probably be used as a neat body bronzing brush as well, but I’m not about that bronzing life. For the ways it can be used compared to the price, I think this brush is fantastic!

My thoughts on elf studio brushes in general are that they are amazing given the low price point. These are some to definetely consider adding to your cart if you’re placing an order with them anytime soon, or if you’re in the market for some new brushes and on a budget. I haven’t had any shedding problems with any of these brushes yet, but I’ve also only had them for a month or so.

Things that Make Me Happy about Spring

Ah, Spring is officially here! The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and I am wheezing!

No really, Spring is my worst season of the year in terms of allergies and asthma. Hold your inhalers in the air if you feel me on this one.

Pre-kids I enjoyed Winter because I didn’t mind being alone and inside all of the time. Post-kids I am itching for Spring to be here so we can get the hell outside before we start ripping each others hair out.
So, today I just want to share some pretty pictures and things about what makes me happy about Spring.

IMG_4920

1. Glosses. I don’t know what it is about Spring and Summer, but I am all about glosses during these seasons. Anyone else like that? I think it’s because I am out and about a lot and lip gloss is just easier, yet it has the power to pull a look together. I don’t have to sit and line my lips and conceal for 5 minutes like I do with most lipsticks. I plan on giving my butter and elixir glosses some love this Spring. I’m trying to use what I have and buy less. Key word: trying.

IMG_4921

2. Bright Cheeks! Honestly, I rock a bright cheek all year around, but Spring is when I actually love to play with pinks and corals. Some of my favorites are the City Color Cosmetics blush quad, the Rose duo from BH Cosmetics, and Pearlescent Pink by Wet n Wild. Are you all seeing my obsession with roses and all things rose related yet?

IMG_4922

3. Dewy Skin. My skin is less dry in Spring so I can actually make my skin look a little dewy and glowy! It excites me, don’t judge me. I love the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and the Loreal Magic Lumi I am trying to use up because I actually like the Bourjois one more. The Bourjois healthy mix serum gives me of a satin matte finish, and it smells so much better.

IMG_5127

4. More skin fun. It’s apparent at this point that I am the shade of paper. I used to try to tan and such, but as of 5 years ago I decided to stop it all together and be okay with my skin color. I do sun protect even on cloudy, rainy days in the Spring and Summer. I love this Yes To lotion because it’s thick and doesn’t break me out, and it has spf 30. I’ve also been loving the Pixi glow mist underneath and on top of my makeup. It gives a very healthy glow and feels nice on my skin. My only beef is the sprayer moves a lot and I’m clumsy and miss my face sometimes, thus wasting product.

IMG_4924

5. Bright(ish) nails! Raspberries and neutrals and sometimes lavender is about as adventurous as I get with my nails. You’re judging me, aren’t you? I like my box. My box is safe. My box is gray and cold. Some of my favorite nail polish brands include elf, essie, and wet n wild.

IMG_4923

6. Spring Cleaning and rediscoveries! I really need to go through my palettes and rotate them out and dust a few off and show them some love. I have been trying out so many new products that I have kind of pushed aside some other goodies that I truly do love, namely my Naked palette. I used to use that precious palette everyday. Everyday. Now, with every other neutral palette in existence I haven’t shown the original heartbreaker any of my attention.

Gah, I talk about palettes like they’re children. Maybe I should rotate my children out too and clean them…

Kidding, y’all.
I need to also give my Dark Rose palette some attention because I truly do love it, and I think it may become a staple for me for Spring looks for that “pop of color.” The colors in this palette work together in weird and mysterious ways. I need to unlock it’s magic.

There I go again about palettes…

Anyway those are some things that make me happy about Spring, beauty wise. Life wise I can’t wait to get out and take both my daughters to parks and hear their giggles. I also need to do a huge de-clutter in my life and around my house and just get rid of things.
What are some things that make you happy about Spring, if anything?

As always, thanks for stopping by and reading and I hope you are all having lovely days! Please sign up for email notifications or follow me on here to see more from me if you like me!

ColourPop Blushes: Review + Swatches

IMG_4951

Hi, my name is Kayla and I’m addicted to ColourPop Cosmetics.
It’s true. I know I have mentioned them on my blog, on my youtube channel, in looks…and I’m sure that people are possibly tired of hearing about them. However, I know there are people that aren’t because they know that this brand is truly worth the hype, and it’s not often that I say that.

So, when I saw that they were releasing blushes I knew I was going to buy some.
If you’re unfamiliar with ColourPop, they are a brand based out of California. They are cruelty free, and I have recently discovered that most of their products are vegan. They are also incredibly affordable. Their eyeshadows and lipsticks are $5.
Their blushes are $8, but there is a ton more product in them.

For comparison:

colourpop blush

Left is a super shock shadow and right is a blush

As you can see, the blush is more than double the size of the shadow, so $8 is still a steal!
I ordered 4 so I could get free shipping (free US shipping at $30).

colourpop blush

Texture These feel a lot like the super shock shadows. Very creamy to the touch, yet they are powders. It’s some sort of sorcery, I swear. It does not take a lot to get pigmentation with these. Trust me, a little will go a long way.

Application The suggested application is with fingers, but if you’re anything like me putting your hands all over your face isn’t ideal. I’m happy to say that these also apply well with a brush. I used a Real Techniques stippling brush and the expert face brush, and both did the job well. You could probably dip a damp beauty blender that’s already in use in there as well and dab it on for a very subtle flush of color.

Pigmentation If you’re all familiar with the super shock shadows, you will know that those babies are beyond pigmented. They are magical. I’m convinced unicorns lick them and that’s why they’re so bright. The blushes are also super pigmented.

Longevity Yep, they also last as long as the eyeshadows as well. The mystery of the fading blush is a real thing in my life, and these did not fade.

colourpop cheerio

Cheerio– a satin finish blush. A deep cranberry color that leans towards Marsala, in my opinion.

IMG_4944

Between the sheets– a nude pink color with some beige tones in it. Matte finish. I think this shade is perfect for fair skin tones. It’s my ideal everyday shade, especially in Spring.

IMG_4945

Prenup– This is described as a plummy-pink on their website and that is accurate. I’m in love with this color.

IMG_4942

Birthday Suit– described as a neutral pink in a satin finish on their site. Because this is neutral, it can be worn with any eye look, and I like that about it. I wear about any blush with whatever look anyway, because screw rules, but you know…that’s my life.

IMG_4955

These are arm swatches, and seriously this only me building the color up once! They are super pigmented!

I managed to take a few pictures of me wearing “between the sheets.” Please focus on my cheeks, and not the rest of my face. I was in “mom mode.”

IMG_5068

Overall thoughts
– Colourpop has done it again. They have created a product that I am not head over heels in love with and that I will be collecting more of. I believe there are 20 colors in all, and they are all so beautiful. I love that they create shades that can be worn by everyone of every skin tone and they always make sure to swatch on different skin tones. Love this brand, and these blushes.

As usual, thank you for reading and I hope you’re all having lovely days.

Hard Candy Natural Eyes + Potential Dupe

IMG_4968

Let me start off by saying I rarely venture into Walmart. I live in Tennessee, and just trust me when I say you never know what’s going to happen when you venture into a Walmart. I’ve had some weird experiences. However, I went in to scope out their clearance and browse around since I was bored and feeling antsy.

I ended up coming across a few gems that I can’t believe I haven’t seen many reviews on yet! I don’t own many Hard Candy things since what I have tried by them has been bad (for me) but I saw they had some really cool new things, including new eyeshadow palettes!

What caught my eye the most about these palettes was how similar they looked to the Too Faced tin palettes…and I had a hunch that the one called “Natural Eyes” may be a dupe for the Natural Eyes palette by Too Faced.

My hunch was correct.

See:

hard candy natural

The packaging is obviously different, but still it’s the same concept.

hard candy natural eyes

ARE YOU ALL SEEING THIS? They look so similar! I’m so blown away by this right now!
The Too Faced palette retails at $36
Hard Candy: a wallet busting $8

The Hard Candy palette actually comes with more goodies though. It comes with a primer and an eyeliner. The eyeliner is meh (they usually are) but the primer is actually really nice!

I decided to do true side by side swatches…and the two palettes are truly very similar! Are they exact dupes? No. But if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, try this palette out. While I was swatching the Hard Candy one I noticed the shades are very creamy and buttery, which is unusual for drugstore shadows. A few shades were a bit patchy, but not too bad. I’m overall super impressed with them.

IMG_4966

This is the side by side swatches, and I did put an awkward line down the middle to differentiate.
The Too Faced Natural Eyes palette is always going to have a special place in my heart, but I really love the Hard Candy one as well. I did swatch these over primer since that’s how most people wear shadows, and because I’m so pale that if I don’t some shades just don’t show up.
I may end up going back and picking up the Sassy one as well…because I’m sassy, that’s why.

IMG_4987(1)

IMG_5010(1)

This is a quick look I put together with the palette to test out how well they work with brushes. They blended beautifully! The matte shades are so pigmented and buttery, I’m in love already. The primer was really nice as well, and my shadows did not crease at all!
My overall thoughts are if you come across this, buy it. You can’t really go wrong with a palette like this that’s also cheap.

I had a hard time finding reviews of the new Hard Candy stuff, but if you have reviews of your own, please feel free to link them in my comments section! Or suggest something for me to try!

I did pick up one of their new foundations since the shade looked paper white (my perfect shade, yes!) so if you’re fair skinned and want to see my thoughts, make sure to follow me for updates!

As always, thanks for reading. Have a great day, lovelies.

Swatch Saturday: New Milani Fierce Foil Gloss

IMG_4753

It should be of no surprise by now that I adore Milani lip products. I feel that in terms of quality, Milani is superb with lip products. So, when I saw that they came out with yet another new lip product, I knew that eventually some of them would be mine. I went to CVS searching for my favorite eyelash glue, and I saw an untouched display with all of the new Fierce Foil glosses, and they were BOGO 50% off. I mean, how could I resist? It’s for the blog, obviously.
At my local CVS, these were $5.69, which is the same price as their original line of lip shine glosses. Definetely not gonna break the bank with these.

IMG_4757

The packaging of these is the same classy gold packaging as Milani’s past lip products, but I did notice right off the bat that these glosses are packed with glitter. That also caught my interest. I. Love. Glitter. Lately, I can’t get enough glitter. I want it on everything. Anyway, I picked up 2 of the nude shades and the red shade (obviously) but there were a few other shades. The first thing I noticed when I opened up the packaging to swatch these was the intense smell. These smell like straight up red velvet cake. I know that’s oddly specific, but they really and truly do. So, if strong vanilla smells are not for you then stay away from these.

Second thing I noticed while swatching these is that they are just very glittery, and not very “foiled.” I suppose the glitter is what they meant by foiled, and maybe they would appear to have a foiled effect in direct sunlight, but indoors these just look glittery. I have no problem with that. I find that the intense glitter would make these perfect toppers to create fun and creative makeup looks.

Arm Swatches:

IMG_4740

I did swatches on the back of my hand since the nudes are hard to differentiate on my lips.
Left to right: Venice (a more transparent shimmer) Rome (a beige toned shimmer) Florence (a red with a berry undertone shimmer)

I will say that these are very sticky, and like many lipglosses do tend to sneak onto teeth easily as well. I found that on the lips these can feel a bit gritty if you rub your lips together because of the glitter, but it wasn’t too noticeable in my opinion. Also, these wear pretty away pretty quickly and do leave glitter behind. I wiped my hand after I did the swatches and it looked like I had shook hands with an army of fairies. My hand looked pretty…and smelled like cake.

I digress. I did do some lip swatches even though it’s hard to tell the differences in the nude shades.

IMG_4737

Venice

IMG_4738

Rome

IMG_4739

Florence

Florence is my favorite one. I’m actually excited to play around with this shade and create some stellar intense red lip looks with it for Spring. I’m not a very pink person, so that’s the closest I can get to Spring related 😀

Overall, I find these glosses to be about as nice as their other glosses. Milani glosses are nice and not too sticky, in my opinion. The glitter in these may become annoying, and I don’t really see how these are supposed to be “foiled.” They just look super sparkly, which is okay…I like sparkly.

Has anyone else tried these? What were your thoughts and impressions?
As usual, thanks for reading and make sure to follow me if you want to see more reviews and makeup fun!

Favorites Friday

Apparently, this is the week of favorites posts on my blog.
I love talking about my favorite things. Because, well, they’re my favorites, and by default make me feel happy.

So, welcome to this week’s Favorites Friday post! As usual, there will be some beauty and some non beauty related things.
Comment with some of your favorite things for the week as well!

IMG_4653

1. Favorite Mom Moment: I can’t help but share two photos of this sweet sister moment. Most mornings I wake up and nurse Piper and we play for a bit before Harmony wakes up, but Sunday morning Harmony woke up early and wanted to come and snuggle with us. I absolutely adore and cherish moments like these. Harmony and Piper have a very healthy and loving relationship. I know that some may be thinking “for now” but if I could explain it, I would, but there’s something different there. There’s a different level of adoration that truly touches my soul when I watch them interact. I only had brothers, so maybe that’s my own envy coming out a bit. I always wanted a sister, and I’m happy that they have each other.

IMG_4763

2. Favorite Find: I went thrifting for a bit with the girls and we ended up finding a few goodies! I love thrift stores because I like to use plates and glass things as props for makeup and lifestyle photos. However, I was rummaging through the stuffed animal bin looking for Hello Kitty dolls (as usual) and found a Princess Diana bear…with tags! She was so pretty, I had to have her. I also snagged some really cheap film for my Nikon and a camera lens coffee mug for $1. Did anyone else collect beanie babies growing up?

IMG_4790

3. On my Nails: I recently tried this nail polish brand after seeing yougwildandpolished (look her up on youtube. I love her) raving about this over and over, and I adore them! They’re super affordable at $3 each, and there are so many colors! That and I love the packaging. I’m a sucker for polka dots. The grey color (mauvie night) is probably my favorite so far. It’s perfect. The fast drying top coat drops are also incredible and actually work! I put a drop on each finger and it spares me the grief of having to stand and wave my hands around in an attempt to dry my nails faster. #momproblems

IMG_4792

4. Other favorite find: If it isn’t apparent by now, I collect coffee mugs. I really really wanted the heart mug from Starbucks, but this one is quite cute as well. I’m still searching for the other cute Starbucks mugs though. *Liam Neeson voice* I will find them, and I will buy them.

IMG_4791

5. Makeup Favorites: For blush, I’ve been wearing the City Color Cosmetics baked blush in “rose” literally everyday applied with my Luxie angled brush. It just gives me a very Snow White flushed cheek against my pale skin with a touch of highlight. Because I’m all about that glow. I went on another Kmart clearance trip, and snagged a Physicians Formula Nude Wear highlighter for $3! It’s a super pretty highlight. Physicians Formula highlighters have never let me down. On my lips has been “Rose Femme” by Milani. It’s a super pretty rosey-brown shade. I’ve seen swatches of it compared next to Mac’s “Twig” but I don’t own it so I wouldn’t know. I just know it’s an amazing shade! Can you tell I’ve been all about roses this week? I’m ready for Spring.

IMG_4768

6. Favorite Pet Moment: I went to Trader Joe’s and left the big bags in our floor, and I found Sailor in one playing peek-a-cat with herself. I haven’t had the heart to throw the bag away because she loves it so much.

As usual, thank you for reading, and I hope you are all having lovely days!
Happy Friday, beauties.

Review and Swatches: Nyx Intense Butter Gloss and High Voltage Lipstick

IMG_4337

Before I start this post, I just wanted to say that I had typed out most of this post once before…and wordpress decided to magically eat it and it disappeared into the blogger’s graveyard that’s laced with our tears. I was so livid, and decided to step away for a day and just recharge a bit and type this back out once I had calmed down.

Now I have calmed down 😀

I picked up 4 of the new intense butter glosses and 2 of the high voltage lipsticks at Ulta a few weeks back. My local Ulta had just sat them out and I still had my 20% coupon to use, so that’s what I used it on. They were also BOGO 50%, so it made for a great deal! Anyone else do this thing where you don’t even care to drop money on high end products, but when it comes to drugstore products you are cheap as shit? Because I do that.

Anyway, the original Nyx butter glosses are some of the only glosses I own, and they are incredible. I usually have one (creme brulee) in my purse at all times for emergencies, and I adore the formula. And the smell…it’s like they put the essence of a cupcake inside of every tube. The butter glosses are pigmented, but I guess Nyx wanted to take it up a notch and intensify it (har har har).

First, I noticed the packaging is about the same. The tubes are the same color as what’s inside of them, which is nice. I don’t have to look at the bottom of the tube to figure out which color it is. Second, they still smell like cupcakes. #hellyes

Third, these are freakin’ amazing. I am in love with the new intense butter glosses. They go on so smooth and are so opaque. They feel very nice on the lips, and wear very well throughout the span of a few hours. Now, because these are glossy glosses they do not have the most intense staying power, but I have found that they wear off nicely. One of the things that I usually hate about glosses is that they wear so badly after a few hours. I put it on and next thing I know I have gloss on my teeth and somehow it’s on my face because my hair gets caught in it…it’s just not a good time. I don’t have too many issues of that nature with the original butter glosses or the intense ones.

They do feel slightly sticky (typical) but nothing that gives me the heebie jeebies and makes me want to remove it immediately.

IMG_4321

Chocolate Crepe- A very true brown gloss. I love this color so much, and it seems that many others do as well because it sold out online pretty quickly when these released, and I snagged the last one at my Ulta.

IMG_4322

Toasted Marshmallow- a very dark plum color with a bit of a brown undertone. Probably my favorite color in the entire line. I have a photo of me wearing it on my “favorites friday” post, and I meant it when I said I am going to get a back up. My love for this color is legit.

IMG_4243
(another view of toasted marshmallow)

IMG_4323

Spice Cake- this was a purchase a bit out of my usual comfort zone. This is a very dark raspberry color, and I have to say I love it. I think this would be a great color for the transition between winter and spring for those into that kind of thing, but this is a color I can see myself rocking all year.

IMG_4324

Apple Crisp- a shiny true red. Another beautiful shade in this line. I love red lip products, which should be apparent by now. I knew I had to have this color when I saw them being swatched online by several youtubers. If you love red colors, get this. It’s super pigmented and a great color to keep on you for touch ups, if needed.

Now, on to the two high voltage lipsticks I picked up. These remind me of the original round case lipsticks in the sense that they are creamy still, but I have noticed that the high voltage line is very pigmented. If you own a lot of the round case ones like I do, you may know what I’m saying when I say that sometimes the darker colors from that line can be a bit patchy and uneven while applying. The high voltage ones are not patchy at all, in my opinion, but they are smaller than the original round cases.

I’m also not as fond of the packaging…it seems a bit…cheap. However, I’m not too much of a packaging snob, it’s the product inside that matters the most to me.

This color is “Burlesque” and it’s another true red (surprise!). I love the way this one applied and the color pay off. It reminds me a lot of Chaos, which is one of my all time favorite lipstick colors in the world.

The last color I have to swatch is “Feline” which is a dark brown toned red. This is a very beautiful and vampy color if that’s what you’re into (which I am all about that vamp life). There seems to maybe be a bit of a purple tone to it, but it pulls a bit more on the brown side on me.

Anyway, that is all the ones I have for now, but there are definitely more from the high voltage line that I want to pick up. If you have also tried these out, let me know what you think! Link me to your blog posts if you have one, I would love to read them 🙂
