Pinch Me Sample Box

pinch me sample

Hey beauties,

How is everyone feeling this week? It hasn’t felt like Winter at all in the city I live in, so it’s really been throwing off my mood and stuff. I’ve been sneezy and my body is all kinds of confused.

Anyway, I was contacted by someone at Pinch Me and was asked if I wanted one of the exclusive blogger boxes. I agreed to it, and agreed to share with my followers in case anyone wants to sign up for their next sample day! With that being said, I did get this box for free. It’s a box filled with past present, and future samples that Pinch Me will send to those that sign up for the website.

If you’re unfamiliar with Pinch Me, it’s a site that sends out free samples of current and sometimes new products. I’ve gotten samples from them before, and it’s typically done on a first come, first serve basis. The samples tend to go fast as well, but look at some of the things you can get! It’s no wonder they go quickly.

jan_sampletuesday-1

As you can tell, there are samples for this Sample Tuesday that can suit anyone’s needs or wants! I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet so that anyone interested can have ample time to create their own profile if needed and to get their own samples! Sample Tuesday starts at Noon est, so you’ll want to be sure to have your account set up prior to then.

You can sign up by clicking here

If you do decide to sign up and you snag some samples, please let me know what you got! I always love to hear from you all.

Also, another shoutout to Pinch Me for sending me this box of neat samples. I do not personally use Covergirl products, but I can gladly pass them on to my mother or gift them to others. Which is another thing to keep in mind! Even if you don’t personally want a sample, they always make cute little gifts for others.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you’re all having lovely days.

What’s in My Makeup Bag

IMG_8665

Hey beauties,

I’m back with a post about the things currently in my “everyday” makeup routine. If I’m  not filming or trying out new products, I do have a specific set of products I almost always reach for. Maybe it’s a comfort thing. These are all products that I know work for me and look great on my skin and will  last throughout the day. With two young children and one on the way, I need some long lasting everyday products on days when I’m just out running errands or playing with my kids.

Nyx Born to Glow Primer– I use this primer pretty much everyday. It’s replaced my Too Faced HangoverX primer for the most part. I love the subtle glow it gives to my face and it definitely brightens my complexion up, which is something I need during pregnancy so I don’t look dead and dull. This primer is also relatively affordable!

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Fair– I LOVE It Cosmetics products, and that will be mad every clear in this post. I appreciate their anti aging ingredients and how gentle they are on my skin. Their face products are something I recommend to everyone. The CC cream is light weight, but still has a medium coverage, so it’s what I look for overall in an everyday foundation. I do have to mix a white foundation in with this though, but it’s worth it. I have a back up for this CC cream, that’s how much I use it.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye + Illumination– I ordered this off QVC once when they had a deal on several It Cosmetics products. This is one that I use constantly. I have really dry skin and concealers can easily crease under my eyes, but this one doesn’t. I use the tiniest amount on the back of my hand and use a finger to warm it up and apply it that way, because trust me, a little bit of this will go a very long way. I’m in the shade light and this shade does brighten my under eye area up and corrects my intense dark circles, which is immensely appreciated.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Powder– This is another product that came in the QVC set I ordered. I didn’t know how this would set on my skin, but I surprisingly love it. I don’t use this to set my entire face. I typically only use it on my nose, chin, and forehead. You know, the places that pores are visible on everyone. This powder truly does blue out pores. It’s made of magic, I swear.

Becca Cosmetics Highlighter in Moonstone– I have almost hit pan on this highlighter. I can see the little rim shape poking through, and I am both happy and sad about it. I really do love this highlighter. When I don’t want a super intense highlight but I want one that flatters my skin tone, I reach for this one. It gives me a nice and natural glow on days when I’m not trying to signal alien life forms in space. It’s worth every penny, in my opinion.

Urban Decay Chill Setting Spray– I love Urban Decay setting sprays. I used to use the all nighter, but I wanted to try the Chill setting spray to see if there’s an obvious difference. I do feel the Chill setting spray works out a little bit better on my skin type, and it does feel really refreshing when you spray it. I have to be careful not to spray too much…it’s expensive.

Milani Bigger Better Lashes– Okay, if you watched my favorites video from a few months ago, I mentioned that I didn’t like the reformulation or whatever Too Faced did to the Better than Sex mascara. I think I have found my replacement. The Milani one has a big volumizing brush and is only $8 at most drugstores. I don’t like the little wonky ball thing on the end though. I have no idea why that’s a thing with a lot of mascaras right now. I feel like it’s about to poke my nose and ruin my day.

Jesse’s Girl Liquid Liner Pen in Black– This is a straight up dupe for the Kat Von D tattoo liner, but only costs $7 on the Jesse’s Girl website. This liner has a calligraphy type brush, which is my personal favorite to work with. It makes it easy to create a very dark and straight line and to get your wings even. When your wings are even, your life is in balance. We all know this.

Korpse Cosmetics Immortal Veil– This is an indie brand that I have only recently discovered through youtube, but I can’t put this immortal veil down. There’s something about this powder that sets my under eye makeup all day, and doesn’t crease at all, even after being outside. This is almost unheard of for me and my eye type. I’m about to purchase a larger size of this to put in my makeup kit because it really is an amazing translucent powder. My only beef is the packaging can make the powder be a little messy, and I really hate feeling like I’m wasting product.

Notoriously Morbid Fruit Loops Chapstick- Fun fact: I’m obsessed with anything that smells like fruit loops. If it smells like process sugar and lemon, I’m on it. It’s a problem. So naturally, the Notoriously Morbid fruit loops chapstick is one I reach for everyday. It’s like an adult way to feel childhood nostalgia. Because lip care is adulting, right?

Baby Bat Beauty Lip Scrubs– I use these lip scrubs constantly. I scrub my lips everyday because I wear matte lipsticks almost everyday. The baby bat beauty ones are cruelty free, vegan, and are very affordable at $6 each. Oh, and I have a coupon code. If you enter the code “lunafayebeauty” at checkout on babybatbeauty.com you can save some money. I highly recommend any of the scents that are cupcake/marshmallow related. The pumpkin spice one is also nice if you’re into it.

I believe that’s everything that I wanted to talk about that’s in makeup bag at the moment. Things like lipstick and eyeshadow are never a constant for me, but I do have a “go to” face routine for the most part. If you have have some holy grail types of products you would like to share, please feel free to do so in the comments!

As always, thank you all for reading, and I hope you’re all having wonderful days.

November Ipsy Bag

november ipsy glam bag

Hey beauties,

It’s obviously beauty subscription unbagging week. Also known as one of my favorite weeks of the month. I unbagged everything from my November Lip Monthly bag a few days ago, so today we’re going to take a peak into my November Ipsy bag.

If you’re unfamiliar with Ipsy, they’re a beauty subscription that arrives monthly and costs $10 a month. They typically send out 4-5 deluxe sample sized items or full sized items. I’ve been subscribed to them for a little over 2 years now.

If you follow my blog, you probably already know that the past few months have been weird for me regarding Ipsy bags. Two months ago my bag was stolen out of my mailbox, and last month an item was missing. I’m happy to say that this month the curse is broken and everything arrived safe and sound. Good thing, because this month looks really promising!

First off, I’m dying over the bag. It’s my personal favorite bag so far, design wise. I love galaxy printed anything and everything. I’m a bit of a space junkie, which is something I don’t think I’ve mentioned often on here or anywhere.

Anyway, I received five items in my bag and this is what they were:

1. Benefit Gimme Brow (Sample Size) I was pretty happy to see this in my glam room. I’ve always been curious about it, but I don’t enjoy spending a ton of money on brow products because my brows just don’t respond well to many products. So, having a sample size will be nice! Gimme Brow is a cult favorite as it’s supposed to have little fibers in it that cling to your brow hairs, making them look more voluminous. Not gonna lie, that’s something I need. I do not have full brows, and I never have.

2. Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara (Deluxe Sample) It’s rare that I get two high end samples in Ipsy bags, so that in itself is pretty exciting. I have never personally tried this mascara, but with many mascaras I see a lot of either love or absolute loathe regarding it. I do love trying out new mascaras though! I will admit I have a lot of these little mini samples stashed away at the moment that I need to try out, so if you all want me to start reviewing these as I start running out of mascara (because I hate having a million tubes open, personally) then just let me know!

3. Inspr Beauty Angled Brush Honestly, I love getting brushes in my Ipsy bags. It means one less brush for me to but, and I have received some pretty awesome brushes from Ipsy! My elf brow angled brush has seen better days, and I was just thinking about how I needed a fresh one. Well, now I have one. I can’t wait to see if this is as great as my elf angled brush!

4. LeAnni Ecco Go Away Gloomy Day Serum I have neither received anything from this brand, nor have I even heard of them before this month’s bag. However, I love facial serums. I have a really dry skin type, and this time of the year I go through so many moisturizers and serums. I mean, if this serum will cheer me up I will totally try it out. This was a pretty gracious sample size for a serum, and will probably last awhile.

5. Beaute Basics Sahara Gold Chubby Eye Pencil This product is reminiscent of my favorite Nyx jumbo pencils. I love chubby eye pencils because they work great alone, as a primer, or in the water line. This gold shade is really pretty, and perfect for this time of the year with the holiday season approaching.

Overall thoughts: I am pleasantly surprised with this bag. I feel that Ipsy has upped their game, and I’m sure their new survey and quiz system has something to do with that. I feel like I get less things that go completely unused to more things that I will at least try. I felt there was a good mix this month with high end samples, seasonal trending shades, and a tool that I will actually use regularly.

If there is anything in this bag that you would want to see a separate review on, please let me know! Also, tell me about what you got in your bag if you want!

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed this short and sweet little unbagging!

Nancy Downs Inspired Makeup!

the craft makeup tutorial

It’s me again! I told you all I love the week of Halloween! I know I normally don’t share but 1-2 looks in one week, but this week is special, and the movie this is inpspired by is special to me. If you grew up in the 90’s, there’s a huge chance you’ve seen The Craft. To this day, it’s one of my favorite movies to watch this time of the year. It’s very nostalgic to me because my dad would always watch it with me. My dad is one of those cool cats that if you catch him alone he will watch a movie with you start to finish without saying much. It’s the best.

Anyway, Nancy Downs is my favorite, and probably most iconic character from this movie. I wanted to put together a simple, yet recognizable look with her in mind. You could also change a few things up and go to a party as a true 90’s teenager. That’s an idea, right?

Now, I know my hair isn’t short or anything, but wigs confuse and frustrate me so I just went with a really teased look using my natural texture, which is already very curly.

IMG_3083 nancy downs makeup

Primer + Foundation: Primer used was the Nivea Men’s post shaving balm. Foundation is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear in Cool Bone mixed with Manic Pani’c white foundation. From what I’ve seen, many looks in the 90’s were matte, but my skin is too dry for matte foundations so the Double Wear is a good in between. It’s full coverage, but has a satin and not too dewy finish.

Powder: BH Cosmetics Studio Pro powder in the lightest shade. I find this powder to give my skin a matte finish without caking on.

Concealer: LA Girl Pro Conceal in Porcelain set with Ben Nye powder in Cameo

Contour: Wet n Wild’s Dulce De Leche down my cheekbones, sides of my temples, and down my nose. I then used Nyx’s HD blush in Taupe to further define the very back of my cheekbones.

Blush: A mauve one that came in a set by City Color Cosmetics. The shade “blackberry” is very similar.

Highlight: Okay, highlighting wasn’t really a thing then, but I have to have a little or else I feel my face looks flat. I used a little bit of the nude glow one by Physicians Formula.

kat von d innerstellar palette

Brows: We all know what 90’s brows look like. Thin and dark. Lucky for me, my brows are already relatively small so I just filled them in with Nyx’s brow gel in black, and I did apply this liberally. I set it with their brow mascara in black.

Eyes: I primed my eyes and used the Kat Von D Innerstellar palette today. I feel the key with this look is to be messy, and be dark. I used killing moon as my transition shade and went into astrological to make my eyes appear a bit more deep set.

On my lid I placed Lunacy and in the outer corner I blended darkstar and put that halfway into the crease. I was not precise with this at all. You want this to look messy and smokey.

Liner is Nyx’s black tres jolie liner smudged with night crawler and brow bone and innter corner highlight is lycan. I added lashes to mine, but using just mascara would probably be ideal.

For my lower lash line I put a heavy amount of liner in my water line. Seriously, go ham with it. I then smoked that out with astrological and put on mascara. My eyes are way bigger than Nancy’s, but I tried my best to create the illusion that they are smaller. Using liner all around the eye and using dark colors does achieve that for anyone.

necromancy cosmetica oh no nancy

Lips: I lined my lips with Colourpop’s “Creature” lippie pencil and topped that with Necromancy Cosmetica’s lipstick in “Oh No, Nancy.” This shade is a dark brown and I really wanted to use it just because of the name, so that’s why I used it over top a deep red liner. I love the way it turned out!

Nose ring is my own, and I just put a septum retainer in which is why I’m lacking a pretty septum piece today.

Spiked collar is actually a body harness I have turned around that I got off Etsy awhile back. You can add some necklaces if you want, I know Nancy wears quite a few throughout the movie.

My shirt is just a white button up I found in my closet. Another option would be a tee shirt and leather jacket, and of course a skirt with boots.

I know this look isn’t 100% accurate, but I wanted an inspired yet recognizable look. I tend to add my own little spins to looks, even on Halloween.

I hope you all enjoyed this quick little last minute Halloween idea! It’s very easy to put together, and chances are you already have most of the pieces in your wardrobe/makeup collection!

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having wonderful weeks!

Morphe 35N Palette Review & Swatches

morphe 35N palette

Hey lovelies,

It’s time for a Swatch Saturday post! If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll already know what this post is going to be about!

Has there ever been a brand that you’ve been hesitant to try because it was so hyped up on the internet, and most of the people talking about it were affiliated with the brand? Morphe was that brand for me. I was hesitant to buy anything, until I saw Raw Beauty Kristi talking about how wonderful their palettes are. I trust Kristi’s opinion because she truly is very raw and honest, and because she admitted to not being affiliated with them and she had bought their products herself.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with affiliate links and codes, bloggers have to make money. What made me hesitant about Morphe is that they were one of those brands that I felt I never saw anyone mention them unless they were affiliated, and that raises questions for me as a consumer, especially after another brand’s fiasco with this very issue. So, I ordered some single shadows to test the waters before anything, and I fell in love. I mentioned the single shadows I have in my Everyday Fall Z-Palette post, and they truly are very affordable and awesome shadows!

After that, I decided I wanted the 35O palette when it came back into stock, I saw that Morphe was on sale on Hautelook.com. I love a good Hautelook bargain, and this pretty all matte palette was $15 that day. That’s right, I snagged a palette with 35 matte shades for $15. Gah, I love Hautelook. Even with their kinda pricey shipping, this palette was worth it for me, and the waiting game began.

Even when this palette is not on sale, it’s $23 or so on their website at all times, which is awesome.

I had no idea what to expect with this palette, but I know I didn’t expect to fall head over heels in makeup love with it.

If you’re not new to my blog, you’ll know I have a soft spot for matte eyeshadows. However, I can be a bit picky with matte palettes and I have a few personal requirements, which include a good mixture of warm and cool shades, some skin toned shades, and great transition shades.

This palette met my expectations and exceeded them.

Since there are 35 shades, there are obviously going to be quite a few options. What I truly adored about this palette right away was the range of neutral light shades in the first row. There are warm ones, neutral toned ones, and a few pink toned shades.

There are quite a few transition shades that are perfect for darker skin tones and for fair skin tones. This is so essential to me, because I am someone who always uses a matte transition shade in almost every look I do. I love having the option to use a warm transition shade or a cool one.

More perks: There are also very dark shades in this palette, and even some fun shades like some pinks and purples.

Shades like pink and purple can take your look from everyday neutral to a glamorous night time look almost instantly if you put it on the lower lash line.

There’s also a matte gray in this palette, which is something I don’t always see in neutral palettes. I like gray, and I find it flattering on lighter colored eyes.

Are they pigmented? Yes! Pigmented mattes are crucial to me in any palette, and these are very pigmented. When I swatched most of them, the texture reminded me of the Too Faced mattes in their Natural Mattes palette.

However, a few of them were a bit hard to work with while swatching. The second to last shade (dark almost black gray) was very patchy, and I wasn’t a fan of the pink. Well, I can’t say I’ve ever been impressed with a matte pink from any palette. Ever. Am I alone in this?

How do they blend? Like a damn dream. Not even kidding. I am someone that likes to stack neutrals in the crease and add drama on the outside, and with the wrong eyeshadow formula, it can get muddy and messy really quick and with the swipe of a brush. I am able to create looks with so much depth with this palette by layering and stacking colors, and that makes my smokey eye loving self super happy. I can blend until my heart’s content and these have remained pigmented and smooth looking.

As you can see, there is a pretty awesome array of matte shades in this palette. I feel like this is the dream Fall palette I needed in my life, and probably the best impulsive Hautelook buy I’ve ever made. The first and last rows of this palette are my life. I can’t stop using them.

The only shades I don’t foresee getting much love are the pink and the second to last dud shade in this palette. But that set aside, this palette is still a bargain! If Hautelook has this on sale on their site again soon, I highly recommend this if you’re someone looking for a neutral matte palette to possibly travel with. It has ever shade you would need for day time and night time looks, and just add some purple if you want to for a more colorful look!

I’m really satisfied with this palette, and it definitely made me a bit more anxious to finally have the 35O palette in my hands. Yes, I bought that one too. Yes, I will have swatches up probably next week!

What are your thoughts on this palette? If you own some Morphe palettes, which are your favorites? Tell me about it in the comments!

I hope you’re all having lovely weekends, and as always, thanks for reading! I hope you decide to stop by my blog again soon!

September Ipsy Unbagging

september ipsy

Hey lovelies,

I know this Ipsy unbagging is suuuuuper late, but I just now got my replacement bag! If you follow me on Twitter, I kinda had a mini meltdown after I came home to a pink envelope with no glam bag inside. You know when you’ve had a rough couple of days and you’re looking forward to something and your day gets ruined? That was what happened to me. I know it’s just makeup, it was just the point. Why leave the pink envelope?

Anyway, Ipsy was kind enough to send me a replacement bag! If you’re unfamiliar with Ipsy, they’re a beauty subscription that costs $10 per month, and you get 4-5 deluxe sample sized products or full sized products. I’ll leave my referral at the end, but don’t use it if you don’t want to!

Ipsy and Nyx 3 shadow palette: this palette is actually really cute! I had one similar to it, but it’s a few years old and I probably need to get rid of it. I love neutrals and dark colors, and this little palette is perfect for creating a really quick smokey eye. I don’t particularly like that it doesn’t have a matte, personally, but you can only do so much with 3 eyeshadow shades.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: I was honestly sooo happy to see this in my glam room! This repair cream is a holy grail of mine, especially in the Fall and Winter. I struggle with eczema around my nose and mouth mostly, and this helps with that tremendously. It’s never broken me out and it’s thick, but it doesn’t feel thick on my skin. It is a bit pricey, so I will gladly take this small backup.

X Formula Nail Polish in “Ignite” Not gonna lie, I was most excited about this item in my bag in September. I have never tried this line of nail polishes, and the color they sent was perfect for me. Usually I get shades I never use in beauty subscriptions, but I see myself using this up quickly and I will probably buy the full size. I mean, look at it, it’s perfect.

Bare Minerals Lipstick in “Get Ready” I was actually supposed to get the Trestique matte lip crayon in my original bag, but I will gladly accept this as well! This shade is a really pretty darker nude pink shade, a “my lips but better” shade for my skin tone. I haven’t tried many things from Bare Minerals in general, so I am pretty excited to try out their lipstick!

ClariSea Black Coal Detoxifying Exfoliant: At first I was skeptical because I thought to myself, “I can’t do much with this little product,” but my tune changed once I had this in my hands. You put a quarter size amount in your face wash and exfoliate your face with your everyday skin wash! Neat! I’ve used this a few times, and I will say that if you have sensitive skin to use a light hand, because this scrub can be a bit abrasive. It’s also very salty, so make sure your mouth is closed. Don’t ask.

IMG_2416

These are swatches of the eyeshadow trio and the bare minerals lipstick!

Well, that’s everything I got in my bag this month! I’m really happy with this month, I think it’s one of my favorites! I’m also very satisfied with Ipsy’s customer service, and I am grateful that they sent me a replacement bag. I unsubscribed to Ipsy for a few months, but months like this remind me why I’ve been looking forward to my pink envelopes for over two years now. If you’re subscribed to Ipsy, what did you get this month? Tell me about it in the comments!

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having wonderful days!

Fall Lipstick Challenge Update 4 with Photos

Hey lovelies,

It’s time for another Fall lipstick challenge update! Actually, this will be my last one! I’m honestly not ready for this month to end, I had a blast trying out different lipsticks and discovering new and old favorites! I do have one more day left after this update goes live, but I will share that on Instagram. So, if you want follow my Instagram (@lunafayebeauty) to see the rest. I will be making a video of my top 10 favorites of the month, which will be the shades that I feel are absolutely needed for a Fall lip product lover this season. So, without further adieu, let’s get on with the photos:

coloured raine soul

Day 23: Coloured Raine Soul & LaSplash Cryptic. I was really feeling a gray ombre lip this day. I ordered Cryptic awhile back, but it is really light and washes me out a bit, but I was really digging this lip look. Soul is a really pretty dark gray shade, and I positively love the Coloured Raine formula. It’s a bit thicker in texture so it’s easier to work with, and they are very long lasting!

nyx soft spoken

Day 24: Colourpop Tulle & Nyx Soft Spoken. I know, another ombre lip. I really wanted to wear both of these during this month and realized that September is coming to a close! I do love how this turned out though. Soft Spoken is a really gorgeous dusty rose shade for Fall, or any time, really.

pretty zombie cosmetics black cat

Day 25: Pretty Zombie Cosmetics “Black Cat.” I could not end a month of Fall lipsticks without pulling out a shade of black. Pretty Zombie Cosmetics makes some of the most pigmented liquid lipsticks, and this black does not disappoint. I have not ordered any other black liquid lipsticks simply because this one is so incredible. As I mentioned before, it’s not long lasting, but this black liquid lipstick doesn’t feather on me at all which is something black lipsticks in general can do. I will sacrifice long wear for no feathering. As much as I love Marilyn Manson, the smeared black lipstick look just doesn’t look cute on me.

nyx betwitching

Day 26: Nyx Simply Vamp lip cream in “Bewitching.” I’m sorry for the bad photo quality, I was super busy this day. However, I love the Nyx simply vamp lip crayons. Bewitching is a really pretty purply red color. These aren’t long lasting and I’m not in love with the packaging, but the product makes up for it.

milani matte love

Day 27: Milani “Matte Love.” We all know I have a love for the Milani Matte lipsticks, and this shade is no different. I love this shade of cranberry. It’s pretty enough to wear with a neutral eye and still make a statement. I could go on and on about this formula, but I believe I have already done that in another post.

la girl poetic

Day 28: LA Girl “Poetic.” I’m so sorry for the awful quality photo, this day was unexpectedly hectic for me, and by the time I was able to sit down I was a sweaty and hot mess…literally. However, I will be doing a full review of these lipsticks soon. Poetic is a GORGEOUS blue toned gray shade, and has been compared to Melt’s Space Cake! It’s a really close dupe, which is why I settled for this one instead of getting Melt’s. If you want to see what I’m talking about, go to dupethat.com! They post the best dupes 😀

jeffree star cosmetics unicorn

Day 29: Jeffree Star Cosmetics “Unicorn Blood.” Did you all really expect me to wear everything but my Jeffree Star Velour Liquid lipsticks this month? I know I talk about this shade sooo often, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. It’s not patchy, feels comfortable, and withstood me drinking coffee all day since I was so turned up (is that how that saying goes?) for National Coffee Day. Excuse my awkward hand. I have no idea what I was gonna slap in this photo.

That’s it for this update! I honestly had a blast with this Fall lipstick challenge. I will probably continue to do fun lipstick swatches and looks on Instagram, which wasn’t something I normally did, but you all responded so well to it and that makes me so happy! Well, anything lipstick related makes me happy.

I hope you all enjoyed these posts, and let me know what your favorite(s) were! As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having wonderful days.

Carli Bybel & BH Cosmetics Palette: Review + Swatches

carli bybel palette

Okay, is it just me, or are Youtubers the new celebrities? Maybe I just follow too many beauty accounts, but it seems like every big Youtuber is coming out with their own palettes with different brands. I’m not complaining, but my wallet is screaming at me. It’s practically begging me to stop at this point.

I know that some people are iffy with youtuber collabs, but I quite like them. I think it’s awesome to see someone’s hard work pay off. I also like beauty blogger collabs because I feel that many truly want to create an awesome product/shade, because many review products regularly and have a decent grasp on what makes an awesome makeup product.

Today, I’m going to be talking about the new BH Cosmetics and Carli Bybel collab palette. This palette nearly broke the internet. Carli has over 2 million followers, and this palette was $12.50 when it released. You read that right. I couldn’t believe it myself at first. I think that’s why I was really excited about this palette. It’s one that everyone can afford, from a brand that’s cruelty free and has high quality products. I love BH Cosmetics, and I love Carli’s channel, so this was a match made in palette heaven. Carli was one of the first youtubers I ever subscribed to. I don’t have the same style as her, but her charisma and cute personality always kept me watching her videos.

Anyway, I did wake up at 3 am the day this released to buy it. I had no troubles checking out, but a few hours later when everyone else started waking up the website almost crashed and was really slow. I will say that I don’t think BH Cosmetics has ever ran out of a blogger collab palette. They always try to keep a good stock.

Update: These palettes are currently sold out on the BH Cosmetics website, so if you want one, make sure to sign up for an email notification!

This palette comes with 12 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters.

That’s right, for $12 and some change, you can get 12 shadows and 4 highlighters. To me, that is unbelievable. Also, can we talk about the packaging for a second? I don’t think I own any white palettes. I guess most would think they would get dirty, but this isn’t a matte finish packaging, so it will be easy to wipe anything off. I find this packaging to be very sleek and gorgeously chic. I just want to display it somewhere in my house.

The shades in this are very Fall-esque to me. It’s very neutral, so it’ll be something everyone can use, and there’s some mauve and plum toned shades in it. I honestly think this is a palette that people of so many skin tones can use. These are very flattering shades on so many people, and in that sense, Carli nailed this. I love youtuber collabs, but sometimes I feel some don’t always choose shades or concepts that will appease many of their followers, which is okay that’s their choice, but it’s a bummer to those of us that do like supporting other bloggers.

Shadows

highlighters

First impressions: The shadows are really pigmented, especially the shimmer shadows! I did have a bit of product kick up in the pan with a few of the matte shades, but it wasn’t anything too intense, and it didn’t cause fall out on my face. The shimmer shadows in this palette are to die for though. These are the kinds of light champagnes and pink shimmers that I live for in terms of eyeshadow. They’re just really flattering and easy to use on many skin tones.

I did notice that the shadow can get on the pretty white parts on the pallete, but thanks to the material of the pallete it was easy for me to wipe away. Maybe this is why most eyeshadow palettes aren’t white. I’m a bit rough with them, as are many others.

As for the highlighters, these are so stinkin’ pretty. I almost gasped when I swatched the pink shade, because it’s so perfect for my skin tone. The last two highlighters I will probably not be able to use often since they’re so dark, but I can use them as eyeshadows. The second highlighter is an intense champagne shade, which might be too much for my pale skin, but it could probably be used as a blush topper if it is too dark to use as solely a highlighter.

I have used the pink highlighter, and it’s really gorgeous on the skin. It wasn’t too chalky or powdery, in my opinion, and even my boyfriend noted that my highlight was “on fleek” that day. Ha!

Overall thoughts so far: I am really loving this palette.I’m wanting to play around with it more and film a tutorial using it, so if you have any suggestions, throw them my way! I think that for the price you’re getting a lot from this palette, even if you can’t use every shade like myself. Even with the shades that I probably won’t use, I feel like I am getting well beyond my money’s worth with this palette based on the quality of the shades I will use and love often, and the packaging.

What are your thoughts on this palette if you have it? If you don’t have it, will you be ordering it? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments!

I hope you all enjoyed this week’s swatch saturday post! I always love reviewing and swatching new palettes.

Have a good weekend, lovelies.
