Shop My Stash: Too Faced Natural Matte Palette

too faced natural matte

Hey lovelies,

Today is Thursday, so I have a look to share with you all! This look is a bit different in the sense that I pulled out some products I haven’t used in awhile, but I have some newer things to talk about as well. I really need to show some of my products some love and rotate them out, so this is my way of doing so. I hope you all enjoy it!

IMG_2126 IMG_2123

Base: Too Faced Hangoverx primer and the Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation (Ivory) mixed with Tarte’s illuminating serum. I actually got this serum off of Glambot, so it’s new to me, but not a new product. I really like how this serum allows me to wear fuller coverage foundations on my dry skin without making it look too dewy.

Concealer: Nyx’s HD lavender concealer mixed with Maybelline’s dark circle concealer.

Contour: Nyx’s HD blush in “Taupe.” I haven’t used this in awhile, and it’s a favorite of mine. I almost forgot how easily it blends into the skin.

Blush: City Color Cosmetics Baked Blush in “Rose.” I bought this awhile back and used it constantly for a month and then got distracted by other blushes. Welcome to my life. I love baked blushes in general, and this one gives a really healthy pink glow to my cheeks.

Highlight: Physicians Formula Nude Glow Shimmer Thingie. I loved this highlighter for so long and then got stuck on the Colourpop ones. This highlight is perfect for fair skin, well at least the first 4 light shades are. I used my Real techniques setting brush to apply this on my cheeks, down my nose, and on my cupid’s bow.

IMG_2125 IMG_2122

Brows: I used my Anastasia Dipbrow pomade in “ebony” today, because I haven’t used it in awhile. Yes, one of my brows are straighter than the other and not as arched. I am not someone that is overly concerned with symetrical brows because I’m a human being, and we are not symmetrical in any sense. I set my brows with Nyx’s tinted brow mascara in “black.”

Eyes: I pulled out my Too Faced Natural Matte palette today. This palette kinda got pushed aside when my Kat Von D palette arrived, but this one is really lovely. I love the warm shades in this one, and Honey Butter and Chocolate Cookie just scream Autumn to me.

My transition shade is Honey Butter. I have Chocolate Cookie in the crease and Risque on the outer corner. On my lids I actually have Colourpop’s “Onai” which is a really pretty pearlized white shade with a hint of shimmer.

I have Heaven on my brow bone and Strapless and Chocolate cookie on my lower lash line. My water line liner is City Color Cosmetics white retractable liner, and my liner is Physicians Formula eye booster in ultra black.

My lashes are Eylure’s Katy Perry Lashes. The “Oh Honey” ones. I really like these, but the band was hard to hide. I like black banded or invisible lashes, but these had a bit of white in the band, which sticks out like a sore thumb (as seen in a few photos) unless you really work black liner in there, which is a makeup disaster waiting to happen with my clumsy ass.

Inner corner highlight is Milani’s “Bella Ivory” single shadow.

colourpop blood

On my lips today is Colourpop’s “Blood” lined with Nyx’s “Deep red” retractable liner. I haven’t gotten a chance to wear this lippie yet, and I’m in love. It truly does remind me of the color of blood. How do I know that? I got a big boo boo on my big toe last week and I almost fainted at the sight of my own blood. That’s right, the chick that loves horror movies and taxidermy got squeamish over a blood soaked paper towel.

IMG_2106

And just because, here’s a sweet picture of me and my cat, Sailor. If you’re subscribed to my Youtube channel, you’ve probably seen her. My cat has the biggest catitude.

Anyway, that’s about it for today’s Face of the Day post! I hope you all enjoyed this simple look.

Shop My Stash: Fall Blushes

fall blush

Hey lovelies,

I’ve been playing with this idea of sharing some things from my makeup stash as I go through things and switch products out, and what better time to start than when the seasons are about to change? So, here I am today with some of my Fall blushes that will be in my regular rotation for the next few months. Some are well loved, and some are yet to be loved.

IMG_2077

Everyday Drugstore Faves:

Milani Rose Blush ‘Awakening Rose” I know, I know, I talk about these rose blushes so often. I can’t help it, they truly are amazing blushes for the price. That and the packaging is to die for. Awakening Rose is a really gorgeous everyday mauve shade, and I actually used this in my last tutorial. I use this shade very often and that pretty rose embossment is still there.

Nyx Powder Blush ‘Dusty Rose” this is a shade that will pair really well with all the trendy dusty rose shades this Fall. It’s more of a satin finish, so it’s not too matte on the skin, and I find the powder blushes last for a long time on my skin, personally. I do find these to be very pigmented and a bit powdery if you use a heavier hand, so make sure to lightly apply this. The Sedona Lace duo fiber brushes are my favorite for applying very pigmented blushes.

Wet n Wild “Mellow Wine” I’ve talked about these blushes before, and for $3 you really can’t go wrong with them. I wear “pearlescent pink” all Summer, and I switch them out for this on in the cooler months. This is another one to use a light hand with. I like to look like Snow White, so I know shades like this won’t be for everyone, especially my fellow pale friends.

IMG_2076

Everyday Matte Blushes

City Color Cosmetics “Papaya” I’ve mentioned these on my blog as well. I picked up a bunch of these for $3 each at my local Five Below, and Papaya is probably my favorite shade of the bunch. It’s a beautiful matte mid-tone peach shade, which is something I gravitate towards for everyday looks, especially when I don’t know what other blush to wear. It pairs well with everything, much like the matte version of Milani’s “Luminoso.”

City Color Cosmetics “Blackberry” Okay, are we seeing a trend yet? I really really love deeper mauve shades. I feel they compliment my skin tone very well since I have natural cool undertones. Don’t let the name of this one scare you, it’s actually a really lovely deeper pink shade that pulls almost purple. If you don’t have a Five Below near you, I will leave my City Color coupon code at the end of the post. No pressure, there’s a lot of codes that float around so you don’t have to use mine. I did purchase these blushes myself though.

IMG_2075

Go Bold or Go Home

Milani Baked Blush “Red Vino” Alright, this shade is not for the faint of heart. It will totally look stunning on darker skin tones, but I use this as my staple “Snow White” shade paired with just mascara and a red lippie. It makes me look flushed, and the gold in this gives a stunning sheen to my skin. It’s a shade that I don’t hear enough about, probably because it is so dark in color.

Kat Von D “Essex” I don’t know if these blushes are available anymore? I’m still going to mention it for anyone that still has these in their local Sephora. Yes, these are $25, but the packaging is beautiful and a little bit of this blush goes a long way. It’s a beautiful rose shade that I tend to wear almost everyday, if I’m being honest. This formula lasts so long on the skin as well, and I really hope these aren’t being discontinued forever.

ColourPop “Cheerio” This is a shade that I haven’t been able to play around with much. It’s another that looks really intimidating in the pan, but swatches lighter on the skin. It’s a marsala type of shade that has a satin finish. I really love this shade and can’t wait to play around with it more as the weather cools down!

That’s it for today’s little “shop my stash” entry. Let me know if you all like this type of post, and I will try to put something else together soon! I really need to go through my stash and show some things some love before I end up with 100 of everything. The joys of being a makeup enthusiast.

Have a good day, beauties.

Colourpop Throws it Back: Haul + Swatches

colourpop fall

Hey beauties!

It’s Saturday, and I have some swatches for you all! Okay, so remember when I said I needed to stop shopping so much? Well, as soon as I said that everyone dropped previews of their Fall lines. I was lying to myself before I even knew I was lying to myself. However, I was better and narrowed down what I really really wanted from Colourpop’s Throwback line to 6 things. These were the 6 things that I knew I would use in tutorials or on an everyday basis.

If you’re unfamiliar with Colourpop, they are an indie company that is quickly growing in popularity on Instagram and Youtube. Their products are very affordable. Their shadows are $5 each and their lippie pencils and sticks are also $5 each. Now, their lippie sticks only come with 1 gram of product (1/3 of what is in MAC lipsticks for reference) but that’s perfect for me, because I rarely ever use up lipsticks.

Anyway, I picked up 6 items, 3 shadows and 3 lip products, from the Colourpop Throws it Back collection. This collection is inspired by the 90’s, from the names to the colors. Colourpop tends to nail trendy colors, and they did not disappoint with this line. It’s filled with cool tones, browns, reds, and dark plum shades. You can get your Craft on with these shades.

IMG_1953 IMG_1955

I picked up 3 shadows that I thought would be great together or separately. I settled on Mixed Tape, Central Perk, and Straight Trippin.

Anyone else a huge Friends fan? When I saw the name of one was Central Perk, I knew I needed it. It could have been dead slug slime green and I probably would’ve still gotten it. I was in luck, because this is probably one of the most beauty burgundy shades I have swatched in a bit. I haven’t gasped at a burgundy eyeshadow since I swatched Melt’s ‘Enigma” awhile back. It’s so lush.

IMG_1954

These are the swatches. Left to right: Mixed Tape, Central Perk, Straight Trippin

I really want to create a messy smokey eye with these shades. I don’t think I’ve done a messy smokey eye yet on my blog or Youtube channel where I didn’t have some elaborate cat wing or something. These are all gorgeous though, and I highly recommend getting Mixed Tape and Central Perk.

IMG_1957

I also picked up 2 lippie sticks and a lippie pencil. I got the lippie pencil and stick in “Grunge” and the lippie stick in “Poison.” Okay, Poison is awesome and I’m hoping this shade is named after the band and not the poison apple in Snow White. Well, either are pretty badass in my book. I digress. It’s a red, so yeah I had to have it.

Grunge is a mid tone cooler brown shade. I really feel like Colourpop nailed this shade. They gave people a more affordable option to relive that 90’s lip. That’s what I’ve always loved about their brand.

IMG_1958

Swatches left to right: grunge stick, grunge pencil, poison

Curious about how Poison compares to the other reds from Colourpop? I was too! So I did a comparison post:

IMG_1960

From left to right: Lady, Bichette, Blood, Poison

Poison reminds me of a mix of blood and lady.

That was everything that I got from this collection…so far. Ha! Did you all pick anything up from this collection? Let me know!

I hope you all enjoyed this post! As always, thanks for reading and I hope you’re all having wonderful days!

Fall Lipstick Challenge Update + Overview

Hey lovelies,

urban decay shame

Day 1: Urban Decay “Shame” lined with Colourpop’s “Creature” lippie pencil. I really loved this combo, and it was the lip look I was wearing in last week’s “Face of the Day” post. It’s such a gorgeous deep berry shade, and the finish of the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks are semi matte, moisturizing, and actually do stay put for quite some time, especially when paired with a liner. I actually scored this lipstick off Glambot during a clearance sale, and it’s definitely made me think that I may need some more of these in my life sometime soon. I’ve been eyeballing the new matte ones lately…especially 1993.

colourpop creeper

Day 2: Milani Liner in “True Red” and Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick in “Creeper.” There’s nothing I love more than a bright, true red. This combination makes my heart flutter. I made a post on instagram stating that if you own the ultra matte lipsticks and you don’t enjoy the feeling, try them with a liner to create a barrier between your lips and the liquid lipstick. Milani’s true red is the perfect shade match for Creeper.

nyx liquid suede lipstick

Day 3: Nyx Liquid Suede Lippie in “Amethyst.” Oh, this shade. It’s the blurple of my dreams. These lipsticks are all incredible so far. They set well on my lips and aren’t too drying. They’re pigmented, and though they don’t last long, I still love them. I’m going to be doing a full video review with lip swatches of these, but this one was too gorgeous to not slather on my lips.

notoriously morbi lilith

Day 4: Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics “Lilith.” This is my first purchase from this indie brand, and I did so because Sharie from SecondhandSweetness swatched it and raved about this brand, and I was hooked when I saw this color. It’s so damn pretty. It’s the dark burgundy of my dreams. It’s the perfect mix of red and brown. These are vegan and cruelty free FYI, and they are only $9 a piece, and from what I could tell, pretty long lasting. Definitely worth looking into.

kat von d lolita

Day 5: Kat Von D “Lolita.” This is a cult favorite liquid lipstick, and my first ever liquid lipstick. It’s what started my obsession with liquid to matte formulas, so it has a bit of a sentimental value to me. I’m also pretty sure mine is part of the “bad” batch since it’s more brown than dusty rose, but I love this shade and haven’t bothered to purchase the newer batch because of it. If I’m not mistaken, Kat Von D will be releasing a shade that looks similar to this one since it was so popular.

city color cosmetics hibiscus martini

Day 6: City Color Cosmetics “Hibiscus Martini.” I ordered 3 of the new creamy lip stain shades the day they came out. I almost didn’t order this one, but then I saw the lady’s from TheLipSwatch on Instagram swatch it, and I decided I needed it. Okay, I needed it like I need another hole in my face, but look at this shade. It screams Fall to me. It’s a burnt red color that doesn’t look too orange. Though I don’t mind burnt orange colors since I just ordered one of the Ofra Cosmetics and KathleenLights collab lipsticks…oops.

nyx vintage

Day 7: Nyx Liquid Suede “Vintage.” I know, I wore two shades from this line in one week. In my defense, I’m still testing these out so I can put a video review with lip swatches together before these are released in Ulta stores on 9/24. This shade is a gorgeous deep plummy-red shade. I’ll speak more about this formula and such in my full review though.

city color cosmetics triple berry spritzer

Day 8: City Color Cosmetics “Triple Berry Spritzer.” I did this one because someone requested a swatch of it. It’s so freakin’ gorgeous though. I feel this would be a really pretty and flirty darker nude for Fall. Not everyone is into the darker colors, and I understand that. I want to throw a variety of shades into the mix this month. This is another one of the new shades from the Creamy Lips line. These glide on like butter. Definitely a formula you could keep in your purse to throw on while in a hurry.

During the first week of the challenge I realized I could keep this going for several months if I wanted to. I told you all I am obsessed with lipstick. We’re all allowed to have our guilty pleasures, right? Mine is lipstick, coffee, and diet coke. I think it could be worse.

Anyway, that’s it for this week! I hope you’re all enjoying these posts and the swatches on Instagram.

Speaking of Instagram, you can still join in and show my your favorite fall shades using #lunaloveslipstick

There are some that have been doing so!

Face of Day: Gold Halo Eye

IMG_1588

Hey lovelies,

It’s Thursday, which means I’m going to show you all a look and talk about some products that I slapped on my face. Okay, I brushed and applied them gently and with a bit of precision, but you all get the point. I have some new things to talk about and I brought out some old favorites. I’m officially doing Autumn looks, and I wanted to start off with something warm and bright, and I added some of my dramatic flare to it.

IMG_1585

I’m not even sure what to call this look? I kinda put several trends together. The grungy red shades, the glamorous halo eye, and vintage red lip. I don’t even understand myself some days.

Anyway, let’s move right along into the selfie overload and details behind this look.

milani romance

Base: I went back to my true love and used my Laura Mercier hydrating primer. I then used my Revlon Colorstay in 110 Ivory as my foundation. Because this is a fall inspired look, I wanted to use something fuller coverage, and the Colorstay formula is an old favorite of mine. The color match is almost perfect (just a tinge too yellow for me) and is full coverage, but doesn’t look cakey or feel weird on my face. I applied it with a real techniques sponge.

I set my powder with the Laura Geller balance and brightening powder in “porcelain” (surprise) and used my Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer in “Chantilly” under my eyes. I also covered up the volcanic blemish I have on my chin with my La Girl green concealer and put a bit more concealer on it. I don’t suggest this for anything but pictures. Sadly, suffocating zits in concealer doesn’t kill them. It only makes them stronger. I set my under eyes with the Ben Nye Luxury powder in Cameo.

Contour: Wet n Wild’s “Dulce De Leche” and the darkest shade in the Elf contour kit on the very outside of the hollow of my cheek, just to add some depth.

Blush: Milani’s “Luminoso” When in doubt, Luminoso.

Hightlight: The Balm’s “Mary-Lou Manizer” I haven’t used this highlight in a hot minute, and it’s always going to be one of my favorites.

milani romance

Eyes: Primer is Hard Candy’s eye primer. I went over that with Nyx’s “Immaculate” single since I was going to be using darker colors and wanted them to blend smoothly, and this was also my brow bone highlight.

Transition shade is “Mourning” by My Pretty Zombie. On the inner and outer parts of the eye I started layering and blending colors. I started with My Pretty Zombie’s “Nymph” and then used “Cocoa Bear” by Makeup Geek, and finally used Makeup Geek’s “Bitten” to darken everything up. The trick with halo eyes is of course to leave the center blank, but always blend and layer in between shades.

In the middle I put down Nyx’s jumbo pencil in “Yogourt” to prime a bit and used elf’s glitter primer on the center of my lid. Once that was tacky I put Lunatick Cosmetic Labs’ ‘Ghouls Gold” on the lid carefully with a flat and dense brush.

milani romance

On the water line I used the Skone Cosmetics lip/eye duo pencil in “Wine” that I got in my Ipsy bag. Feel free to use a brown or something, I just enjoy looking sick. I did the same halo thing on my lower lash line, but I only used “Bitten” and “Cocoa Bear” on the outside and inner parts. I put a teeny bit of glitter primer in the middle and then put Ghoul’s Gold on the blank space. It kinda looks like I’m crying glitter, right? I hope so.

I used my Nyx pearl mania in “white” as a tiny bit of an inner corner highlight. I didn’t go ham like I usually do.

IMG_1582

Brows: Nyx’s Tame and Frame in “Espresso” Nyx’s brow Mascara in ‘Black” and Ofra’s universal brow pencil to give myself some hair looking things in the front.

Liner & Lashes: Physician’s Formula eye booster in ultra black + NYC liquid liner and lashes are Kiss #11. I used Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara to prep my lashes for falsies. I did not put mascara on my lower lash line. I felt that this look looked great without it!

Lips: Lined with Nyx’s “Deep Red” retractable liner and I topped it with Milani’s Amore Lip Creme in “Romance” which is a really bright, blue toned red. I wanted to do a red lip because I felt it pulled out the red and burgundy tones in the eyes.

My necklace is from Rue 21 🙂 I can’t stop wearing it!

Other thoughts: Red is a color that really brings out green eyes and makes them stand out since it’s on the opposite end of the color wheel. With that being said, I know that reds and burgundies are colors that many do not feel comfortable using. I hope that by showing a pretty glam, yet simple, look like this will show that red is an awesome color to work with! It’s one of my favorites to use.

That’s it for today’s Face of the Day post! I hope you all enjoyed this look, and comment if you have any colors or themes you would love to see in my Fall Makeup Look Book! As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having wonderful days!

Lip Monthly August 2015

lip monthly august

Hey lovelies,

Another month, another beauty subscription! Today, I will be going over what I got in my Lip Monthly bag! If you’re new to my blog, Lip Monthly is a monthly beauty subscription that costs $10. Typically everyone receives three lip products and one “makeup mix up,” and on average each bag has been valued at close to $50 lately.

I had to include the little card in the photo this month. I thought it was really pretty! The card stated that this month’s theme is “the end of summer” and the products are supposed to reflect that. Honestly, I’m glad the Summer themed bags are almost over with everyone. I can only handle so many glossy and pink things.

Mirabella Lip Pencil $25– This is a bright orange type of shade. I don’t own many Mirabella things, and this color looks so pretty and swatched very smoothly! It’s very pigmented, though I’m not sure if I can pull off orange. Maybe I just need to open myself up to it more.

City Color Lip Butter $3.99- This lip butter looks pink, but it is sheer. It’s not included in the swatches because there’s not a point. I’ve gotten a lot of lip balms and butters this summer, and I think I’m set for a few years. This one is really cute and I am always happy to get things from City Color in my subscription bags.

So Susan Light Diffuser $18- I’ve gotten quite a few things from So Susan through Lip Monthly, and I have to say that I always love their packaging! I love highlighters, so I know I will use the highlight shade in this. It’s a bit gold, which might not look great, but I’m gonna try it anyway. The bronze shade is cool toned, but has a bit of shimmer in it, but it’s not a lot so I might be able to blend it out and use this as a light contour for everyday use.

Starlooks Matte Lipstick $7- This is in the shade “dragon fruit” which is a pretty neon shade of pink. I dig it. Because this looks more like a lip pencil to me, I might end up using it to line my lips before applying the one bright pink lipstick I own. I think this could also work well for ombre looks if I do an Instagram look or something. It swatched very well, and is very pigmented.

IMG_1536

Left to right: Light Diffuser Contour, Highlight, Mirabella pencil, Starlooks “dragon fruit”

Overall value of the bag: $54.99

I’m pretty happy with this month’s bag. I’m not as excited as I’ve been in previous months, but I am looking forward to trying the light diffuser and orange lipstick. If you get this subscription, let me know your thoughts down below! I would love to chat!

As always, thanks for reading!

First video: Review + Swatches of 6 Milani Lip Amore Lip Cremes

This video has been on my channel for about a week now. I swatched 6 out of 8 of the new Lip Amore Lip Cremes, and I swatched them on my lips and in natural light.

Left is Desire, Right is Crush

IMG_1337(1) milani amore lip creme

Left is Beloved, Right is Embrace

In my opinion, Beloved, Lust, and Desire are must haves. They perform the best for me and last the longest and don’t crumble when I eat anything.

Second Video: Influenster Wellness VoxBox Unboxing

I did get this box for free, but like I mentioned in the video ANYONE can sign up and become an Influenster, and I have more info about it under the video! No, I don’t get points or anything for putting the website there. I just like to share the wealth with everyone. I used Influenster before I started blogging, and it was an awesome way to sometimes save money on new things when I was in a tight financial spot.

That’s it for today’s post! I hope you all enjoy the new videos! I will be filming my August Favorites, an empties video, and another tutorial very soon!

Have a good day, loves.

Elf Moisturizing Lipsticks (NEW SHADES)

elf moisturizing lipsticks

Hey beauties,

It’s Monday.  The day that many dread. If you have the Monday blues and you’re wanting something to read, what’s better to read than a review on some newly released products? Better yet, new lipstick. I know it’s not Saturday, but I did swatches of some things from Wet n Wild this past Saturday. Two swatch posts in a row is okay, right?

Anyway, I have some swatches today of 4 out of 8 of the new Elf (eyes lips face) moisturizing lipsticks. I snagged these during a not so “secret” release. I’ve honestly not tried many lip products from Elf outside of the Matte Lip Crayons, so I was happy to add some of these shades to my cart. I also found a free shipping code and ebates always has cash back for elf, so I paid less than $12 for all 4 shades in the end.

elf moisturizing lipsticks

First off, the packaging is really cute.Personally, I like simple packaging. It’s very chic. The color blocks are on the bottom, which makes these easier to store and organize so you’re not left guessing which shade is which. The price is $3 a piece, and I believe that Elf said these would be limited edition.

The smell of these is a very light vanilla scent. I did find that these apply very smooth and because they have Vitamin E in them, they are indeed hydrating.

However, I am not impressed with the pigmentation of these. I guess because these were so hyped I was expecting more, but these are more of a sheer formula. I know that many people prefer sheer formulas, but I do not. Especially with darker shades. I opened up “bourdeaux beauty” expecting a lush dark red shade, and instead I got a sheer red shade. It’s lovely, yes, just not for me.

I wanted to be upfront about that. I am not saying these are bad, they just probably won’t get much use in my own collection, which means I will probably pass them along to my mom.

IMG_1415

Because I did not spend a lot on these, I am not totally heartbroken. I was expecting more, and I feel this might be the last Elf lip product I try for a bit. I love my matte lip crayons, but these just missed the mark for me. Am I the only one that feels this way? I’ve seen people on Instagram raving about the pigmentation of these, and I can’t figure out if they’re being nice, or if I got a bad batch or something since I did order these as soon as they were released. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled on liquid lippies at the moment.

IMG_1416

From left to right: Marsala Blush, Berry Kiss, Bourdeaux Beauty, Black Berry

These are what the swatches looked like after I passed over it twice. So, the color is buildable. For $3 each I think that these are awesome if you like a more sheer finish, but I personally like more pigmented formulas of lipstick. These are quite hydrating though, and remind me of the Revlon lip butters. So, if you’ve always wanted to try those and only shop cruelty free, you may be a fan of these.

What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Chat with me in the comments!

As always, thanks for reading! I hope that if you’re new to my blog that you will stay awhile! It’s free and fun 😀

Have a good day, loves.

Face of the Day: Cool Toned Cut Crease

coloured raine soul

Hey lovelies,

I’m back this week with another #fotd post, and I have to admit that this is one of my favorite looks so far! I’m a sucker for cool tones, especially grays. I actually sat down to do a subtle v cut crease shape, and then ended up with a dramatic cut crease that looks a lot like something inspired by Black Swan. Welcome to my life. I go to do a subtle look and end up with wings so large I can fly away from all my problems.

So, if you’re here for details behind this almost fully monochromatic look, then you’re in the right place!

Base: please don’t judge me, but I have totally fallen head over heels in love with using Nivea’s post shaving balm as primer. I can’t stop using it. Thanks to NikkieTutorials, my curiosity was peaked, and oh my gosh my makeup has been laying on my face like a damn dream. I’ll go over it more in my August favorites video in a few weeks, but that’s my primer today.

Foundation is a mixture of Nars Luminous Weightless foundation mixed with Bourgois healthy mix serum, both in the lightest shades. I highly enjoy this combination, it gives my skin a healthy glow while remaining in tact all day.

Concealer is Nars Creamy Radiant concealer in “Chantilly” set with Physicians Formula correcting powder under my eyes, and my face is set with Laura Geller’s balance and brightening powder in “porcelain.”

Contour is Lunatick Cosmetic Labs cool contour kit. For those wondering about when these are being re-released…I believe soon. I know they’re releasing a giant contour palette soon, and the packaging is honestly drool worthy if you’re a horror fan like myself.

Blush is Kat Von D’s “Love Song” which is just a really pretty cool toned pink with a hint of shimmer, though the shimmer doesn’t show up on me.

Highlight is Colourpop’s “Hippo.” Are we surprised? It’s my favorite highlighter. Something about that slight lavender glow gets me all kinds of excited. I just want to cover my body in it.

Brows: My usual…Milani’s brow pomade in dark brown set with Nyx’s black brow mascara, and I use Ofra’s universal brown brow pencil to give myself some little hairs because my brows are a bit wimpy in some areas.

Eyes: Primer is Hard Candy’s eye primer. I’ve been going back to this primer because it’s really cheap and the formula reminds me of the Too Faced one.

The palette I used today was Kat Von D’s Shade + Light Eye palette along with some single shadows. I used Nyx’s single shadow in “SOS” as my transition shade. I then took the dark taupe shade in the Kat Von D palette and mapped out the cut crease. This is a cool trick to do if you’re not a master at cut creases, because I am truly not. I don’t do them often, because I find trying to make them even tedious and a bit frustrating. However, I had a bit of free time to fuss with eye makeup today.

Tape also helps, which is what I also used. I mapped out the shape I wanted and then blended it out with Colourpop’s “Downtown” which is just a really rich deep taupe shade. I then took a little (think teensy baby amount) of black from the Shade Light palette and placed it on the outside corner and blended up to give my eye a bit of dimension.

I then took Nyx’s jumbo eye pencil in milk and put that on my lid and used that to kind of clean up the cut crease. I went over that with Colourpop’s “Swan” which is just a gorgeous white glittery shade with silver sparkles.

Liner is Physicians Formula eye booster pen in ultra black and filled in using NYC’s black liquid liner. This has been my go to liner combination lately.

Lashes are Kiss #11 lashes. I probably could’ve went with a super dramatic lash, but I didn’t want to take away from the rest of the geometric vibe I had going on.

On the water line i used “Milk” again and outlined the little inner corner “flick” using the black shade in the Kat Von D palette. I then blended that out softly using both “Downtown” and “SOS” I filled the open spot with Urban Decay’s “Polyester Bride” and put a bit of mascara on the lower lash line, but I don’t particularly think this look needed it.

Lips: I lined my lips with Nyx’s 1000 years pencil and filled it in with Coloured Raine’s “Soul.” I have been wanting this color for so long, and I’m so happy it’s mine now. It’s so gorgeous. This formula is amazing as well. It’s moussey like the Stila formula, but it’s comfortable and not tacky and reminds me of how the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks feel.

Well, that’s about it for the details behind this look! I hope you all enjoyed it! I had fun creating this one, and I want to do more cut creases. I’m going to be making a list of fall looks to put on my blog and my youtube channel, so if you have any requests, please send them my way! You all know I love dramatic looks 😉

I hope you’re all having wonderful days!

Night Time Smokey Eyes: Collab w/ Hello Kaily

IMG_1230

Hey lovelies,

Sorry that I did not have a Face of the Day post up this week! It’s been a bit of a busy week, and let’s just say that some fun things are coming to my blog and Youtube channel next month! Anyway, I did post a new video on my Youtube channel, and it’s a tutorial! Even better, it’s a collaboration, so you can watch two tutorials!

If you tuned in last week, Kaily and I collabed with our favorite Wet n Wild products, so this week we posted a day and night look. Kaily did the day time look (which is gorgeous btw) and I did the night time look.Okay, this is a look I wear often no matter what time of the day it is, but it’s smokey and sultry.  Kaily stayed true to the one brand and actually used only Wet n Wild products, and I kinda cheated. However, I did try to stick to only drugstore brands/affordable brushes if I couldn’t use a Wet n Wild product. My skin texture is a bit different, and some of the concealers and such don’t work out for my skin, and I didn’t want to use it and pretend like I think they’re awesome when truthfully I don’t.  It’s also the look I was wearing in last week’s video, just a different lip color.

The key to looks like this is to constantly add, layer, blend, and repeat. I know the word “blend” gets annoying after a bit (I practically hate the word at this point) but it is really crucial, and changes the look and shape completely.

I hope you all enjoyed our two part collab, and I have Kaily’s video and channel linked in the description box under my video. Be sure to check her out if you haven’t already!
