Medusa’s Makeup Bag January 2017

img_3241

Hello Beauties,

Another day, another unbagging. If you’ve been on my blog before, you’ll know that Medusa’s Makeup is the newest beauty subscription I started to try, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

Medusa’s makeup sends out 4 full sized products every month for $14.95. This brand is a vegan and cruelty free brand, and sells an amazing amount of varied products.

This month, I received two full sized eye products, a full sized lipgloss, and a cute little thing of beauty oil.

Spark Note (White glitter)– I have used this glitter constantly since I got it. You all know I love a glitzy and bold inner corner, and this is the perfect shade for me. It’s bold and it’s not too chunky so it adds the right amount of “ummph” to my smokey eyes. This is probably my favorite item this month by far, and I will likely run out of it.

Purple Rain (full sized eye pigment)– Ow, my heart has still not recovered from losing Prince. I love the name of this pigment, and the shade. Purple is probably the one color outside of neutrals I feel comfortable working with. I love how it looks against green eyes. In general I love the eye pigments from Medusa’s Makeup and I’m always happy to see them included in bags.

Space Kitten (gloss)– Okay, as much as I’m trying to use gloss more…I’m a little tired of getting them. I have several sitting around at this point and I’m looking at them like, “what do I do with you?” I might try the new eye trend and use it on my eyes though and see how that works. I just can’t stand the feeling of most glosses on my lips. I will wear one at some point and then go weeks without picking one up again.

Maracuja Oil– This looks like a tiny sample, but with oils that are 100% a very tiny bit is going to go a long way. I’m always happy to get beauty oils in my subscriptions bags. I have very dry skin so I use oils for about everything from skin care to blending out cream products on my face. I’m happy to add this one to my little stash.

That was everything in my bag from January. What are your thoughts on this subscription? I don’t have a referral link or anything, but if you’re interested in signing up, just go to medusasmakeup.com. It’s so easy, and they even accept paypal! I’m happy with this bag in general, and I always love getting full sized products that I know I will use.

If you have any vegan/cruelty free beauty subscriptions, send me some recommendations. I always love hearing from you all.

As always, thank you for stopping by and I hope you decide to stay for awhile if you’re new to my blog.

Target Beauty Box Unboxing

target beauty box

Hey lovelies,

It’s Saturday! Anyone have any awesome plans for the weekend? Personally, I’ll probably be relaxing (when I can) and catching up on some reading. I might add a glass (or 2) of wine here and there. I know that usually on Saturdays I do swatches, but today I’m going to do an unboxing because I have several subscription posts coming up soon, so I might as well add this one into the mix!

If you’re unfamiliar with the Target beauty box, it’s a beauty box that has no strings attached to it, and they are typically between $5-7 with free shipping. If you have a Target debit card, you can get an extra 5% off! These beauty boxes always sell out super quickly. Seriously, if you see a blogger announce that there is a new one live on Target.com, don’t hesitate. Put it in your cart and buy it.

I have never been disappointed in any of these boxes. They are typically higher value, and this one was no different. The overall value of this box is $35, and I only paid $7 for it, shipping and all.

IMG_1250

This is what I received in my box, and I am so excited! Some of these things are new on the market, and some are already staples in my beauty routine. So, if you’re interested in what I got and my thoughts, just keep reading.

target beauty box

Clairol Hair Food Moisturizing Mask $11.99 This is a full sized item! I rarely get full sized hair products in any beauty subscription, so I was really happy about this one! I actually just ran out of my usual deep conditioner, so now I have a new one to try. I did smell this one already, and it smells heavenly! I use hair masks quite often because I have color treated hair, so I’m already itching to try this one out.

target beauty box

Fekkai Pre-Soleil Hair Radiance Spray: Another hair sample, but I’m fine with it. I actually love Fekkai hair products, and they’re a wee bit pricey, so I really enjoy the deluxe sample sized things Target sends out in their beauty boxes. This is a spray that is supposed to be used before you go out into the sun to help protect it and give it shine. This product does seem to have a bit of oil and shine in it, so if you have fine hair, you might want to put this in your hands rather than just spraying it on.

Olay Active Botanicals Day Lotion and Toner: Normally, I don’t enjoy tiny skin care related samples. However, this line from Olay is brand new, and it’s intrigued me. Both these samples have snow mushroom in them, which is supposed to draw out impurities in the skin. I’m curious to see if these will be awesome, and I may look into buying the full size of the moisturizer if it works on my dry skin.

IMG_1253

Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara: This is another full sized item, and one that I already use very often! I love this mascara. The wand is very thin and reminiscent of the Benefit Roller lash mascara, and this formula actually lengthens and volumizes my poor wimpy lashes.

Crest 3D white 1 hour express whitening strip: This is another thing that is a staple in my routine. Well, about twice a year. If you haven’t noticed, I am am an avid coffee enthusiast (a better way of saying caffeine addict) and coffee is delicious and stains the teeth. So, I do turn to whitening strips every now and then to take away the stains. I have not tried the one hour express strips though, and I am excited to see if these truly do whiten teeth in an hour.

Overall, I’m ecstatic about this beauty box and I cant wait to start trying things out. If there’s anything that you would like to see a separate review on, please let me know! Usually, when I try things out in these subscriptions I will mention my favorite ones in my monthly favorites videos on Youtube.

Did any of you pick up the Target beauty box this time? What are your thoughts? Chat with me in the comments about it, or about anything!

Have a good day, lovelies.

Milani XL Bronzer: Dolci Collection

milani bronzer

Hey lovelies,

Who’s up for more swatches of new, but limited edition, things from the drugstore?

I have seen pictures floating around instagram of the new Dolci collection by Milani in drugstores, and while I was making a run to CVS I saw the display in my store. On the display there was an eyeshadow, lipstick, lip gloss, nail polish, and this big ole bronzer duo. They’re all named Dolci. I only picked up the bronzing duo though, because I actually don’t own many bronzers.

They scare me. I’m so afraid of looking like an orange or that it will look good in my mirror and like shit in natural light that I honestly just don’t use bronzers often. With Summer approaching though, I do want to give them a try again and see if I can find one that warms up my face more than my Body Shop Honey Bronzer without making me look like an orange covered in dorito crumbs.

This bronzer and highlight duo claims to be for all skin types. That’s a pretty big claim. I picked this up for $10, which is expensive in terms of drugstore products, but there is 12 grams of product in this baby and the “shelf life” of it (if you go by that kind of thing) is 36 months. So, I do believe for the amount of product there is and given you can use this for 3+ years…$10 is a pretty decent price.

IMG_7045

Personally, I love the packaging of this duo. It’s so Summery. The little imprinting seems to not go all the way through the product, but pretty far into it. To give an idea of the size, it fits perfectly into the palm of my hand. It’s a pretty decent size.

IMG_7046

On the left is the bronzer and the right is the highlight shade

These swatched very nicely. They didn’t feel powdery or apply unevenly. Both sides were very soft to the touch.

Bronzer: When you look in the pan you can see shimmery flecks in the bronzer, but it doesn’t translate onto the skin very much. This shade is pretty warm, but I have tried it once and it looked great on my skin when I used a very very light hand with it. It’s warm, but it’s not overly warm bordering on orange, if that makes sense. It does look and apply very nicely to the skin.

Highlighter: I’m trying to figure out what I can use this shade for. It’s gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but it’s too dark for me to really use on my face as a highlight or to set anything. I may try it as an eyeshadow. I’m definetely a bit perplexed by it, but I will eventually find a use for it.

Overall thoughts: I’m happy with the bronzing side. It’s still a bit intimidating right now to me to apply, but I feel that as Summer draws nearer and my skin deepens up 1-2 more shades that it will look way better on me and not intimidate me as much. However, I feel that if you’re darker than me you should totally consider this duo! I think the overall quality and price is amazing if you’re looking to add something pretty to your collection.

Have you picked this up at your local drugstore? What are your thoughts on it? If you haven’t gotten it, will you be snagging one? Comment down below!

As always, thanks for reading and if you’re new to my blog I hope you decide to stick around!

Unboxing: Target Summer Beauty Box

summer target beauty box

Hey beauties,

Today I have an unboxing! I will be showing you all what I got in my Target Beauty Box this Summer. Every season, Target releases beauty boxes that have deluxe sample sizes and full sized products, and are pretty high value. They are usually $7, and the shipping is free, and if you have a Target debit card you can snag an extra 5% off! There is no true “subscription” with this box, and it’s on a first come, first serve basis. I will say that these boxes sell out very quickly every time they’re released, so if you ever see one in stock and want it, just get it.

This season’s bag was valued at $40, and I received 5 items in my bag. I think that for the most part everyone received the same scheme of products with some variances here and there.

Without further adieu, let’s get on to the the unboxing!

IMG_7259

1. Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Styling Creme– Deluxe sample size valued at about $6. I love Fekkai products! They’re a bit out of my price range, so getting big samples like these makes me so happy. I’m really excited to try this one because it claims to tame frizzy hair, and boy do I need that in the Summer time in the humid South. This is one of the products that I’ve seen vary between boxes.

2. Olay Regenerist Luminous Hydraswirl Eye Cream– This is actually the product that caught my eye the most when I ordered this box online. This is a full sized product and retails at $23! I have tried this out a few times, and I do like it. It’s unscented and gives a nice glow to my under eyes, cancelling out the purple that’s naturally under my eyes.

3. Sinful Colors Nail Polish “Boom Boom”– The retail value of this is $1.99, and though this is a lovely pink shade, I don’t wear pink nail polishes often. I may be setting this one aside for an upcoming giveaway *wink wink*

4. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in “Gladiolus-” Retail of this is $8, and it’s full sized! I haven’t had a chance to wear this shade on my lips yet, but I have swatched it and it felt very smooth and buttery!

5. Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover Wipes– There are 3 of these in the box and that comes to about a little over $1. I have used one the pads already, and I put it to the test with a deep burgundy shade, and it cleared all the polish off in with one pad! I was impressed, and I will use these up. Will I repurchase? Probably not for awhile since I have loads of acetone stored away, but these are very nice.

Total Box Value: $40

There were also 2 coupons in this box, one for $3 off a $15 beauty purchase at Target (can also be stacked with manufacturers coupons as well) and a $1 off a Revlon product.

Overall, I’m really happy with this seasons beauty box! Did you snag one or more of these boxes? What did you get? Will you be getting one in the future?

As always, thank you for reading, and I hope you are all having wonderful days!

Swatch Saturday: Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

too faced chocolate bar

I feel like I went the cliche route with my picture today, but I had to. How can you not with this cute little palette?

Okay, so I may be the last blogger to review this palette, but I’m going to anyway. Maybe it’s something that someone viewing my blog has been on the fence about for a couple weeks or a year (me), or maybe you need to revisit this palette and need to be reminded of it’s gorgeous aroma.

Yes, this palette has an aroma. It smells like chocolate and the dreams. If kitten dreams had a smell, they would smell like this palette. Okay, enough about the scent.

This palette can be found at sephora.com or toofaced.com…but I actually snagged this from a blogger that had only swatched this and wanted to sell it. Regular price of this palette is $49. Oh, and you can also get it from hsn.com and they almost always have free shipping and some kind of code to use, so there’s that. So, if you’ve been on the fence about this palette for any reason and want to see a review from someone that was in your shoes, just keep reading!

IMG_6740

When you open up this palette, you will see 16 pans full of neutral goodness. My favorite kind of surprise. There are 14 smaller shades and 2 larger “highlight” shades. I will say that a beef I have with this palette (that Too Faced changed with the Semi Sweet) is that the names are not under the shadows, nor are they on the back. The shade names are on the plastic that comes with the palette and on the box, so if you throw those out good luck with trying to figure out the name of that rad gold shade chilling on your eyeballs.

Obviously, the packaging is adorable and very durable. I love that Too Faced uses mostly tin packaging for their eye palettes because it does make these very travel friendly. This would make for a lovely travel companion that’s pretty compact and and packed with lots of color options.

What caught my eye with this palette over the Semi sweet is the variety of cool, warm, and neutral tones in this palette. There’s a purple that makes me super happy (purple is a lovely shade for those with green eyes) and that dark reddish brown shade (cherry cordial) was just screaming my name.

I will say that there are a lot of darker shades in this palette. It’s the perfect neutral palette for those that love smoky eyes, and I am one of those people. I will wear a dark smoky eye to the grocery store, I’m not afraid. I mean, don’t we all have those days where we sit down and think “I’ll wear a natural look today” and somehow end up with a smoky eye?

Anyway, now to the swatches. I did swatch these over the Hard Candy eye primer because neutrals are a bit hard to swatch on the arm at times.

too faced chocolate bar

Swatches from Left to Right:

Gilded Ganache- dark brown with some gold shimmer.

White Chocolate- warm matte beige “highlight” shade

Milk Chocolate- medium-toned, warm matte brown shade

Black Forest Truffle- deep brown with a bit of burgundy undertones and some bronze sparkle

Triple Fudge- deep matte dark brown

Salted Caramel- warm toned medium orangey brown shade

Marzipan- frosted peach shade that looks a little metallic when applied

Semi-Sweet- medium dark brown

Strawberry Bon Bon- matte cool toned pink

IMG_6738

Candied Violet- cool toned smokey violet shade

Amaretto- frosty dark brown with some red undertones

Hazelnut- darker bronzey golden shade

Creme Brulee- metallic gold

Haute Chocolate- frosty chocolate brown

Cherry Cordial- warm toned reddish brown with a hint of sparkle

Champagne Truffle- shimmery “highlight” shade that’s white with a hint of pink

IMG_6735

How did they apply? For the most part, these shadows apply and blend very well. A couple of the shades like Candied Violet and Black Forest Truffle have a bit of fallout, but it wasn’t too annoying in my opinion. The only fail in my book was strawberry bon bon. On me, it applied so chalky looking and just didn’t look right to me. Maybe it’s my loathe of baby pink eyeshadow talking here? No idea, but that was really the only shade that I felt didn’t apply well. The shades with sparkle also feel a bit dry and powdery when swatched, but they do end up blending out nicely on the lid. I feel the shimmery shades have a bit more fallout and are powdery because most of them are matte based shadows with shimmer added to them, rather than added with them if that makes sense. The metallic and frosty shades apply like butter though.

Yeah, but will my eyeballs smell like chocolate all day? I wish, but sadly the smell leaves after you apply them. Or maybe it doesn’t…I can’t really sniff my eyeballs. I have a lot of talents, but that is not one of them.

Do I need so many browns in one palette? Yes and no. I will say there are a lot of brown shades, but there is a pretty good mixture of warm and cool toned browns and a few that can lean either way. It’s really just a personal preference.

How do I keep from munching on this palette? A lot of willpower and a few eyeshadow brushes. Take it out on your eye lids and give yourself a killer smokey eye just in spite.

Is this palette worthy of being in my collection? In my opinion, yes. I honestly like the color selection and quality better than a lot of other neutral palettes floating around. I love that this one comes with a violet, gold, and a peachy shade so that you can really amp it up or tone a look down while remaining glamorous if wanted. I like that the two lightest shades are also the biggest, because those tend to be used the most. At $49 with 16 shadows that’s a little over $3 a shadow, and that in itself is a great deal!

I have read that there are a few “repeat” shades from past collections that resemble those in this palette, but I can safely say that after looking at my Natural Eyes and Matte Natural Eyes palettes there are no repeats in those, unless you consider “White Chocolate” to be eerily close to “Heaven,” but almost every neutral palette these days has a nude-beige highlight shade of some sort. This palette does lack a true black shade, so if I’m wanting a classic smokey eye I have to pull from another palette, but that’s also fairly typical of Too Faced. It’s not a deal breaker for me considering I have about a lifetime’s worth of black shadows in my collection.

I hope you all found this review to be helpful in some way, or at least entertaining. Maybe you just liked my cliche pictures and now you’re wanting chocolate 😉 ha!

As always, thanks for reading and if this is your first time visiting my blog, stay awhile! It’s free and fun.

Have a good day, lovelies.

Ipsy Unbagging: May 2015

ipsy april

Hello, Jetsetters

I have an Ipsy unbagging for you all today, and yes, the theme is “Jetsetters” for the month. Remember when I said that last month’s bag was my all time favorite? I changed my mind, this is my new favorite bag. Seriously look at how freakin’ cute it is. There were several bags that were given out, and from what I’ve seen they’re all cute.

Anyway, if you’re new here a quick description of Ipsy is that it’s a beauty subscription that arrives at your doorstep once a month, and costs $10 per month. Each person takes a beauty quiz of sorts and is given 4-5 full sized or deluxe sample sized beauty items based on that quiz. There’s typically a pretty good mixture of high end and indie/non mainstream brands, especially lately it seems. I really feel that the Ipsy has stepped their game up and they are sending out some incredible things, or at least in my opinion they are.

bellapiere gel liner

The first thing I want to share from my bag is this BellaPierre gel liner. I wasn’t too thrilled about getting another liner, because I have about 10 that I need to use up from other beauty services…but then I swatched this one. I swatched it and it didn’t budge. I washed dishes, rubbed it with my hands…everything. It’s also very very creamy and smooth. I have a feeling that with allergy season upon us this liner may be my new best friend. Because there’s nothing better than being halfway through your day and having an intense sneeze fit and suddenly looking like a sad raccoon.

IMG_6657

Okay, I will admit that I squealed a bit when I saw this in my glamroom. I’m a lip product junkie, I know it. I embrace it. Or rather, my lip products are always embracing my lips in some way (ha!). In my bag this month I got a mini pencil (still a good amount of product) of Urban Decay’s 24/7 lip priming pencil. This pencil from what I gathered is supposed to prime and blur out imperfections on the lips. I have a feeling this will come in handy now that I have an HD camera and every little line can now be seen on my lips. I also got two little lipgloss samples in “Failbait” and “Bittersweet.” I’m normally not a fan of samples like these because I never use them, but Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands so chances are these will be used. I’m honestly dying to try that purple gloss out sometime soon.

IMG_6658

This was the other thing I was most excited about this month. I received a Luxie tapered blending eye brush, and I die over anything and everything rose gold. I actually ordered the Luxie angled face brush when they had a sale on it and I use that brush constantly for blush and it’s probably my prettiest brush I own. So, I was naturally excited to see I was going to be adding a new little rose gold pretty to my collection. Blending brushes are something I never seem to have enough of.

IMG_6659

Last, but not least, I received a deluxe sample of the Briogeo leave in conditioning spray and a sample of the Amie morning-dew mattifying moisturizer. I use leave in conditioners CONSTANTLY on my hair since I have naturally coarse and frizzy hair, so the spray I’m pretty excited about. I typically don’t use hair samples (I forget to, oops) but that one I will use.

I’m happy about the moisturizer, just not too sure how it’s going to be on my skin yet. A “dew” mattifying moisturizer seems like a bit of an oxymoron to me, but I will try it at some point.

Overall, I’m really happy with this month’s Ipsy bag! I feel that their sample game has been strong the past few months. If you’re subscribed to Ipsy, what did you get in your bag? Are you happy with it? Comment your thoughts or link me to your blog posts ❤

I have no idea if I should start doing “follow up” posts with my subscription bags, so if that’s something that would interest you, feel free to tell me! Or maybe I should make the follow up a video with a look put together with some of my favorite things received? I have no idea, ha!

As always, thank you for reading, and I hope that if you’re new to my blog you will decide to stay and follow me for a wee bit!

Swatch Saturday: La Girl Creme Lipsticks

la girl luxury creme lipstick

Hey beauties,

I feel like I haven’t done a Swatch Saturday post in ages. Okay, maybe like two weeks, but I really love doing swatch posts! Especially when lipstick is involved. Well, if lipstick is involved, I’m probably down. Today I’m going to be swatching 4 lipsticks that I don’t believe I have talked much about, and that’s the LA Girl creme lipsticks.

Everyone has been so obsessed with liquid and matte lipsticks (myself included) that I wanted to look in my collection and pull out some creamy lipsticks. Matte lipsticks aren’t for everyone, and even though I adore a great matte finish, I do like a nice moisturizing lipstick finish as well.

If you don’t know about LA Girl, they’re a brand that can be bought online at http://www.lagirlusa.com or can sometimes be found in select drugstores and Five Below stores. They are cruelty free, and very affordable.

They sell quite a few lipsticks, including liquid lipsticks, but I don’t see much on their Luxury Creme lipstick line. So, I’m going to swatch and talk about the 4 I have in my collection.

There are 24 shades in all that range from light nudes, red, and a black. I do love the range that LA Girl has in these lipsticks and I feel there is something for just about everyone.

Price: $4

Consistency: These are very creamy and hydrating.

Application: I personally like to apply these straight on the lips and then take a lip brush to evenly apply it the rest of the way. These pair best with lip liners because they are very creamy and therefore a bit slippery. I find that liners help my lipstick to “stick” and not get on my teeth as much. That and liners prevent the weird feathering thing that can happen with non-matte lipsticks.

Finish: As I’ve said possibly a million times, these are not matte, but they’re not too super glossy either. I like that about them. They’re kind of a happy medium, in my opinion.

Pigmentation: With all of the ones I swatched for this post I had no problems with the pigmentation. They went on smoothly and with no patchiness.

Packaging: I’m not a fan of the packaging. The packaging is a bit cheap (okay, very cheap) and a little flimsy. However, I will say that because the product inside is so good I can forgive cheap packaging. I can tell that LA Girl kind of sacrificed nice packaging for a great lipstick, and that’s okay in my book. I can respect that. If you’re a packaging snob (no judgement here, I am myself at times) then the packaging may bug you a bit too much with these.

Staying Power: Because these have a creamy texture and finish, you’re probably gonna have to reapply them throughout the day, especially if you eat and drink with it on.

Smell: I found that these don’t really have a smell, which is fine in my book.

Worth a try? In my opinion, yes. I really like LA Girl as a brand, and I think these are nice lipsticks to try out if you want to try pinks or reds, but don’t want to drop a ton of money on a higher end brand. The only things that bug me with these are the packaging because I end up getting lipstick all over the tube every time I apply one. That and if you rip the little sticker off completely you suddenly don’t know the name of the lipstick you’re putting on. That’s also annoying. Other than that, I really love the way these feel on the lips. Because there is shea butter and vitamin e in them they are very hydrating. Perfect to throw in your purse on a nice Spring or Summer day.

Swatches:

la girl amour

Amour: A very “nude” lipstick that looks almost brown on my skin tone. I did conceal my lips before these swatches so I could show you all the true color. I really like this color. It pairs well with “nude truffle” lip liner by Nyx. I know that not everyone is into the brown-nude thing right now, but I am. It’s my way of being “bold” at times without wearing a bright or odd colored lipstick.

IMG_6613

Be Mine: A very brown lipstick with just a tinge of red in it. I know this color can be intimidating for people with fair skin, but I happen to love this color. It has a very “marsala” tone to it, and pairs well with a warm and matte eye look.

IMG_6616

Promise: This is probably my favorite out of the 4 I own. It looks a wee bit different on my lips than it does swatched on my arm. It’s more of a plummy-berry color that’s bold, but not overpowering.

IMG_6617

Last Night: This is a shade I would probably never purchase myself, but I actually got it in my Lip Monthly bag last month. I quite like it now that I’ve tried it on. It’s pretty intimidating inside of the tube, but on the lips it’s a nice deep pink color. Still bright, but wearable if you’re afraid of pinks like I am.

Arm Swatches:

That’s it for today’s swatch Saturday post 🙂

Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush & Glow Trios

wet n wild silver lake

Hey Beauties,

Today I have more things to review and swatch! I feel like that’s what most of my posts have been lately, but the Summer collections are starting to hit drugstores and the products obviously just want to come home and live with me. So, they magically end up in my hands and before I know it I’m paying for them and walking out the door. Makeup trance, I swear.

Anyway, I’m pretty excited to be reviewing these because I have noticed online that they are starting to pop up in more stores. When I saw the display for these I noticed there are 3 trio palettes in all. I did not pick up the third one simply because every shade in it was way too dark for my skin tone.

I did pick up the other two in “Fair Trade Coffee” and “Sunset Junction” though. These were $3.99 each at my local Walgreens, or $1.33 per shade since there are 3 shades in each palette. There are 12 grams of product in each of these, so I for sure got my money’s worth in terms of amount of product vs. the price, which is something I personally consider when buying limited edition items.

Something I struggle with when it comes to limited edition items is that I don’t want to buy something and not use it, or feel afraid to love it and use it too quickly. I’m sure any makeup collector/enthusiast has felt this struggle at some point or another. However, when companies put a lot of product in a limited edition item it gives me a bit more room to fall in potential love with it, and makes me more likely to purchase it.

Each trio has a bronzer, highlight, and blush. There’s no separation between each product in the pan, so I’m not sure if that’s going to be a problem in the future.

Swatches:

These are swatches from “Fair Trade Coffee.” Odd name, but I really love the blush and highlight in this one. The blush is very pigmented and is a pretty dark pink color. I love pink blushes on every skin tone. I feel this shade of blush is one that many skin tones can wear and either lightly apply it or pack it on. The bronze shade is way too orange for my skin tone, but I could probably use it as a crease shade if I’m in a pinch. If not, I still love this trio and I’m very happy with it. I’ve worn the highlight a few times and it’s super pretty and fairly subtle, yet glamorous at the same time. It has a bit of sparkle to it, which is something to keep in mind. I like a bit of sparkle in my highlight though. I like to shine bright like a diamond.

These are swatches from “Sunset Junction.” Once again, I would not be able to get away with that bronzer, but the other two shades are so lovely. I have been using the blush and highlight from this trio often since I’ve picked it up. The blush is pigmented and is a pretty light pink, and paired with the highlight it gives my skin a very radiant and healthy glow, which is something I need taking care of two small kids everyday. Fake it till you make it, right?

Overall: I’m impressed and happy with these. For $3.99 each I feel these are awesome little trios for Spring and Summer. The colors are pigmented, and they are smooth and easy to blend out. The bronzers are super orange, which is disappointing, but I would totally buy these again and I don’t regret this purchase. Even if you’re not a fan of sparkly highlighters, you could probably use them on the eyes as a nice shimmery shade with the bronze shade in the crease, because the blushes in these trios are awesome.

Anyway, I’ve been very impressed with almost everything Wet n Wild has released the past few months and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store!

If you have these, let me know what you think of them!
Will you be picking up anything else from the Silver Lake collection or any of their newer products?

Wet n Wild Lunch in Sao Paulo Palette

Hey lovelies,

So, I was trying to find the California Roll palette from the Silver Lake collection only to discover that most of the Walgreens in my area have started to take the displays down. I was a wee bit crushed. However, Kaily from Someday Sunny must have felt my pain states away and found one and is sending it to me! Seriously, that made my whole day.

The point of me mentioning that is because even though I couldn’t find anymore Silver Lake palettes, I did find a display with a new Limited Edition Wet n Wild palette!

If you’ve read my reviews on the Paris Runway and Milano palettes knows that I think the quality of these palettes are awesome for drugstore eyeshadow palettes. If you’re looking for a cruelty free and affordable palette, I do reccomend them.

With that being said, to avoid repeating myself I’m just going to share photos and swatches and my thoughts on how this compares to the other two.

Price: $7.99, same as the others

Permanent? Nope, this is one of the limited edition items from Wet n Wild that will be popping up over Spring and into Summer. So, if you see it and want it, snag it.

Colors: This palette has a few very bright and colorful shades and some neutral shades. There are no matte shades in this one, so you may need to use some from other palettes if you’re like me and enjoy matte transition shades, but overall the colors are very pretty and I feel there’s a decent amount of diversity.

Quality: The quality is the same as the other two, in my opinion. Very easy to swatch, and the colors feel very nice. A few of the colors were very slightly powdery, but nothing too bad. I do feel that in terms of drugstore quality, these are awesome shadows.

This palette comes with the brush just like the other two did. It’s not my personal favorite brush, but it works if you’re in a pinch, or if you’re just starting out with makeup.

These swatches are done with no primer underneath. The color payoff was really nice. The yellow-ish color I had to work a bit with, but I typically do with all lighter shades because my skin is so fair. I’m dying over that greenish-teal color though. I really want to play with that one.

Overall thoughts: Ah, I’ve been sucked into the “limited edition” trap once more. However, this one I am very happy with, and I’m already planning out a possible “get ready with me” video using it! It’s probably obvious by now that Wet n Wild is one of my favorite drugstore brands.

I don’t know if I like this palette more than the Milano one, but I do like it more than the Paris Runway palette. I don’t like that it lacks mattes, but the pretty colors kind of make up for it I suppose. The closest thing to a matte is the teal shade, but even then it still has a bit of sparkle in it. However, if you did some blending you could probably blend the sparkle away. Only do that with shadows, don’t blend your real life sparkle away 😉

I do have some more limited edition goodies from Wet n Wild to review soon, so stayed tuned! If you’re new here, stay awhile if you want!

What are your thoughts on this palette?? Will you be picking it up?
