October Lip Monthly Unbagging

Hey lovelies,

I know I’m doing two unbaggings in a row, but next week is the week of Halloween so I want to save that week for some cute makeup looks and more Fall tutorials! So, today I want to share with you all what I received in my Lip Monthly bag.

Lip Monthly is a monthly beauty subscription that now costs $12.95 per month. You get 4 full sized products, 3 being lip products and there’s always a “makeup mix up” that isn’t a lip product. On average, their bags are high value and most I’ve gotten have been worth $40+. There is almost always a code to get your first bag for $5 floating around as well on Instagram!

Even better, starting in November subscribers will be able to choose the shades they get in their bag, and they’re starting a rewards program! I’m stoked about this new addition to their service. I’m a bit picky when it comes to the shades I wear, and being able to choose will be awesome. Give me all the reds.
Okay, let’s get on to the unbagging:

1. Pencil Me in Eyeliner in One Cent This is a full sized product that retails at $6.99. I’ve received an eyeliner from this brand before, but I wasn’t a fan of the color. However, I really love this color. I like this formula and it doesn’t tug on my eyes at all, and this shade is right up my alley! It’s a shimmery copper shade which is very flattering for green eyes, so I can’t wait to include this in a few fall looks!

2. Lord & Berry Lip Crayon in Sensual This crayon retails at $16, which is a lot for this tiny lip crayon. However, this color, like it’s name, is pretty sensual. It’s a really pretty muted red shade, so if you’re someone that doesn’t like bright reds but enjoys the look of a sultry muted red for Fall, this is a good one! I do have another one from this brand, and now that I have two I might do an official review, what do you all think?

3. Hikari Crayon in Mandarin This chubby lip crayon retails at $14, but I don’t quite understand this shade being in the October bag. It’s orange-y but more in a Summer sense and not in a Fall sense. I don’t really see myself pulling this out until Spring, but it is a lovely shade and it swatched very smoothly, which means it will probably be very hydrating.

4. J.Cat Lipstick in Auburn This is the lowest value item at $2.99, but probably the product I love the most in this bag. Weird, right? I’ve been wanting to try more J.Cat lipsticks ever since the concealer shade Lip Monthly sent everyone (no fiascos like that since then, thankfully) because these seem promising. I adore this shade. It’s so beautiful, and I nearly gasped when I swatched it. Okay, I do that often because I have a serious lipstick addiction and when something swatches smoothly and is a gorgeous shade, my heart flutters. Don’t judge me.

Well, that’s everything I got in my Lip Monthly bag! If you’re curious about past bags, I do have quite a few reviews of their brand that include things about their customer service on my blog as well, just use the search bar on the right hand side of my page and search “Lip Monthly.” I’ve gotten some pretty awesome things in this bag, and some duds. That’s the risk I take with loving beauty subscriptions so much though. This month’s bag retails at $39.98, which is pretty high value, but not as high as usual.

September Lip Monthly Unbagging

Hey lovelies,

Another month, another subscription bag! I know that I usually do my Ipsy unbagging first, but I am currently waiting for that to get to me. I came home to an empty pink envelope (I assume someone took my actual glam bag) but Ipsy was kind enough to send me another! So, in the meantime, I will share what I got in my Lip Monthly bag this month!

If you’re unfamiliar with Lip Monthly, they’re a beauty subscription that now costs $12.99 per month, but on average you get $50+ worth of stuff, and most of the products are full sized.

This month I recieved 3 full sized items and 1 sample sized item.

Jing Ai Lip Jewel in “Pink Star” $22 I’ve actually gotten one of these before in a past bag, but I am not unhappy to get another! These are actually really smooth and pretty pigmented for a lip crayon. I like when Lip Monthly sends these weird not as known brands because this is something I would have never thought to try myself, and it’s pretty awesome!

Noyah Gloss in “Summertime Peach” $6 Okay, this item disappointed me. It’s a really tiny sample which always gets lost with my black hole of teensy samples, and peach just isn’t a shade I want right now. It’s not Summer anymore. I really hope next month we get some Fall things. There was a coupon code attached for 20% off though which was nice.

Jelly Pong Pong Highlighting Pen $17.95 The last thing from Jelly Pong Pong I couldn’t really use, but this I might be able to. I like to use highlight pens like the Nyx wonder pencil to carve out my brows and highlight them, so that’s what I will use this one for! It swatched a really pretty peachy color and felt smooth, so I’m excited to try it!

Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon “Shameless” $16 I’ve gotten a lot of be a Bombshell products from beauty subscriptions in the past, and I actually like their brand! I’ve been using the lip balm I got by them in an Ipsy bag for a few months now, so getting a new product to try is awesome. This is a really pretty berry shade that does remind me of Fall. It swatched really smooth on my arm so we’ll see if it does that well on my lips!

Lip Monthly August 2015

Another month, another beauty subscription! Today, I will be going over what I got in my Lip Monthly bag! If you’re new to my blog, Lip Monthly is a monthly beauty subscription that costs $10. Typically everyone receives three lip products and one “makeup mix up,” and on average each bag has been valued at close to $50 lately.

I had to include the little card in the photo this month. I thought it was really pretty! The card stated that this month’s theme is “the end of summer” and the products are supposed to reflect that. Honestly, I’m glad the Summer themed bags are almost over with everyone. I can only handle so many glossy and pink things.

Mirabella Lip Pencil $25– This is a bright orange type of shade. I don’t own many Mirabella things, and this color looks so pretty and swatched very smoothly! It’s very pigmented, though I’m not sure if I can pull off orange. Maybe I just need to open myself up to it more.

City Color Lip Butter $3.99- This lip butter looks pink, but it is sheer. It’s not included in the swatches because there’s not a point. I’ve gotten a lot of lip balms and butters this summer, and I think I’m set for a few years. This one is really cute and I am always happy to get things from City Color in my subscription bags.

So Susan Light Diffuser $18- I’ve gotten quite a few things from So Susan through Lip Monthly, and I have to say that I always love their packaging! I love highlighters, so I know I will use the highlight shade in this. It’s a bit gold, which might not look great, but I’m gonna try it anyway. The bronze shade is cool toned, but has a bit of shimmer in it, but it’s not a lot so I might be able to blend it out and use this as a light contour for everyday use.

Starlooks Matte Lipstick $7- This is in the shade “dragon fruit” which is a pretty neon shade of pink. I dig it. Because this looks more like a lip pencil to me, I might end up using it to line my lips before applying the one bright pink lipstick I own. I think this could also work well for ombre looks if I do an Instagram look or something.It swatched very well, and is very pigmented.

Overall value of the bag: $54.99

I’m pretty happy with this month’s bag. I’m not as excited as I’ve been in previous months, but I am looking forward to trying the light diffuser and orange lipstick. If you get this subscription, let me know your thoughts down below! I would love to chat!

Lip Monthly July 2015

Hey beauties,

I’m here today to do another unbagging! I got my Lip Monthly bag in the mail on Monday, which was a pleasant surprise, because it was storming and gloomy. If you’re unfamiliar with Lip Monthly, they are a beauty subscription that sends out typically 4 full sized products meant for those that love lip products. Their subscription used to be $10 per month, but now they have upped the price to $13 a month. The price change does not affect those that were already signed up though. I’m guessing the price change happened because they do send out full sized products and because the bags have been getting nifty upgrades.

I will say that this subscription is still worth $13. It has improved substantially over the past few months. If you have been keeping up with my blog for awhile now, you’ll know that I have went back and forth regarding my feelings towards Lip Monthly. However, I wanted them to succeed and improve, and they have from what I have seen. It’s always promising to see companies constantly work to improve their services and products.

Anyway, I receieved four full sized products this month. Three lip products, and the “makeup mix up” which is usually something non lip related. As always, I will list what the price is of each item and go over the total value of the bag!

Lord and Berry Crayon “Fire” $19 Starting off with a high roller product, this month I got a Lord & Berry lip crayon. This crayon is pretty tiny considering it’s $19. However, the color is stunning! It truly reminds me of a fire red. I only swatched it a tiny bit, and it was really smooth. I’m pretty excited to try this, because you all know how I am about my reds.

Milani Lip Intense in “Violet Addict” $6.49 I love Milani lip products! However, I already have this color. I actually reviewed this not too long ago,and if you’re interested in my thoughts click here. I love this shade and this formula. I did take a photo of the one I already have instead of opening the new one up though. I’m going to set it in my “giveaway” basket that is slowly collecting some pretty things! Be on the lookout!

Harvey Prince Mini Roller in “Sincerely” $21 Okay, so I have gotten a fragrance from Harvey Prince before and it smelled like gardenias barfed all over me. I was not a fan. However, this one is better. I will say that Harvey Prince fragrances are strong. I don’t know if I can wear it with my allergies, but I’m going to try and wear it on my wrists a few times to see how that goes.

Medusa’s Makeup Gloss “French Kiss” $9 This is probably my favorite item this month! First, the packaging is badass. I love it. Second, I have been wanting to try this brand for some time. I’m not a huge lip gloss fan, but I don’t mind trying out new ones. This shade looks like a baby pink, which isn’t my thing whatsoever. However, if I like the formula enough I might finally purchase a few things off their site, including the eye dusts that I have seen floating around Instagram for years now.

Total value of this month’s bag: $55.49

Overall thoughts: This was a decent high value bag! I’m excited to try out a few brands that I have been wanting to try, and I would have been way happier about the Milani lippie if I didn’t already have it in my stash. I am happy that they sent a variety of colors. There was a red, pink, and a fun violet color. I find that Lip Monthly would probably be way more awesome for people wanting to build up their lippie stash on a budget, but I don’t mind adding to my own collection. I should care at this point because my collection is ridiculous…#cantstopwontstop
