Swatches: Milani Bare Necessities Palette

milani eyeshadow palette

Hey lovelies,

Long time no swatch. I was browsing around a Walgreens a few weeks ago and stumbled upon the new makeup randomly. Okay, it wasn’t random. I went looking for some new drugstore makeup. I picked a few things up and thought I was done, and then I saw the display with these new Milani eyeshadow palettes. Many are already familiar with Milani’s single shadows, but palettes? Game changing.

I think there were 4 palette choices in all, and I ended up snagging the bare necessities one because it was very neutral. The other one I wanted was already gone, and I’m guessing it’s because there’s a pretty orange shade in the palette.

This palette was $9.99 in Walgreens. There are 6 shades in this, so that amounts to about $1.65 per shade. That’s still very cheap, but I have said this before, drugstore makeup is getting more and more expensive it seems. I will say that I love the packaging right off the bat. I am forever a huge fan of Milani’s gold packaging.

Other than the packaging, the fact that there is a light matte shade and a dark matte shade is promising to me. The reason why is because that means this palette can be used alone to create daytime and nighttime eye looks that have dimension using a matte transition shade and darker outer corner shade. It’s more of a personal preference, but I think palettes that have both mattes and shimmers are the best and most versatile in general.

Another cool thing is that on the back there are 3 pictures of potential looks you can create using this palette. There are a few high end brands that do this as well, including Too Faced and Kat Von D, and I’ve read that people find this helpful, especially if they’re just starting out with makeup. The little brush that comes in this palette is useless and it’s not even worthy of being in the photo. That’s pretty typical of drugstore eyeshadow palettes though. It’s like a tradition.

These are the swatches taken in natural daylight.

The only shade that gave me some trouble was the second matte shade, it took me a few times to get that one to show up. The rest of the shades swatches beautifully. The shimmer shades felt awesome, and I was really impressed with the formula. The gold shade crumbled a bit, but that’s also a bit typical for shimmer shades with very buttery formulas. The darker matte shade swatched awesomely as well! Look at that pigmentation!

Okay, but how did it perform on your eyeballs? Not the best quality eyeshadows I have ever worked with, but I was able to create a pretty day time look. The shimmer shades are awesome though! I found them way more pigmented and easier to apply even above the bella eye shimmer singles.

The mattes aren’t my favorite though. The dark brown was okay, but blending it can be tricky. It’s pigmented, but if you blend even a bit too much you risk making the look appear muddy or blending the shade away almost completely.

I will say this palette would be awesome for anyone just starting into makeup. It’s got two mattes and several shimmers to choose from. So, it’s not going to be overwhelming or over complicated for the casual makeup enthusiast.

Will I be picking up any more? I’m not sure. I might wait until I see some more reviews and swatches of a few of the other ones to see, but for right now, I feel underwhelmed. Because only the shimmer shades performed really well for me, I’m not sure if I will be picking this palette up too often. We’ll see. I have some of the new Morphe single shadows on the way, so I might pair this with those.

If you have this palette, what are your thoughts on it? Will you be picking this up if you don’t have it yet? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you all found this to be helpful in some way. As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having great days!

Elf Moisturizing Lipsticks (NEW SHADES)

elf moisturizing lipsticks

Hey beauties,

It’s Monday.  The day that many dread. If you have the Monday blues and you’re wanting something to read, what’s better to read than a review on some newly released products? Better yet, new lipstick. I know it’s not Saturday, but I did swatches of some things from Wet n Wild this past Saturday. Two swatch posts in a row is okay, right?

Anyway, I have some swatches today of 4 out of 8 of the new Elf (eyes lips face) moisturizing lipsticks. I snagged these during a not so “secret” release. I’ve honestly not tried many lip products from Elf outside of the Matte Lip Crayons, so I was happy to add some of these shades to my cart. I also found a free shipping code and ebates always has cash back for elf, so I paid less than $12 for all 4 shades in the end.

elf moisturizing lipsticks

First off, the packaging is really cute.Personally, I like simple packaging. It’s very chic. The color blocks are on the bottom, which makes these easier to store and organize so you’re not left guessing which shade is which. The price is $3 a piece, and I believe that Elf said these would be limited edition.

The smell of these is a very light vanilla scent. I did find that these apply very smooth and because they have Vitamin E in them, they are indeed hydrating.

However, I am not impressed with the pigmentation of these. I guess because these were so hyped I was expecting more, but these are more of a sheer formula. I know that many people prefer sheer formulas, but I do not. Especially with darker shades. I opened up “bourdeaux beauty” expecting a lush dark red shade, and instead I got a sheer red shade. It’s lovely, yes, just not for me.

I wanted to be upfront about that. I am not saying these are bad, they just probably won’t get much use in my own collection, which means I will probably pass them along to my mom.

IMG_1415

Because I did not spend a lot on these, I am not totally heartbroken. I was expecting more, and I feel this might be the last Elf lip product I try for a bit. I love my matte lip crayons, but these just missed the mark for me. Am I the only one that feels this way? I’ve seen people on Instagram raving about the pigmentation of these, and I can’t figure out if they’re being nice, or if I got a bad batch or something since I did order these as soon as they were released. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled on liquid lippies at the moment.

IMG_1416

From left to right: Marsala Blush, Berry Kiss, Bourdeaux Beauty, Black Berry

These are what the swatches looked like after I passed over it twice. So, the color is buildable. For $3 each I think that these are awesome if you like a more sheer finish, but I personally like more pigmented formulas of lipstick. These are quite hydrating though, and remind me of the Revlon lip butters. So, if you’ve always wanted to try those and only shop cruelty free, you may be a fan of these.

What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Chat with me in the comments!

As always, thanks for reading! I hope that if you’re new to my blog that you will stay awhile! It’s free and fun 😀

Have a good day, loves.

Wet n Wild Fall 2015 Swatch Party!

IMG_1434

Hey lovelies,

I had another post planned out for Swatch Saturday, but then I stumbled upon these and I honestly just couldn’t wait to share them with you all! It’s no secret that I love Wet n Wild, and I always love their seasonal limited edition collections. I was meandering through Kmart (where I always find my best makeup finds) and I felt my heart quicken at the site of a completely untouched display of the new Fall stuff.

In this collection, there are 4 palettes, 6 (I think) lipsticks, and 6 nail polishes that are all limited edition. The palettes are in the traditional Wet n Wild quintet form, though I’m not the biggest fan of the quintet set up. I liked the way the Summer 2015 collection looked better, if I’m being completely honest here. The price per palette is $3.99.

The lipstick packaging is super cute. The packaging is almost like the usual megalast line, but matte black. MATTE. BLACK. I die. I wish they would make them all matte black. These are $1.99 each. In a nutshell, you could buy this entire line and only have to not go to Starbucks for about 3-4 days…which is possibly what I had to do to be able to buy these. I regret nothing.

I picked up 2 palettes and 4 lipsticks for now.

wet n wild fall 2015

This one is called The Gal-lery Next Door. Very clever. This one caught my eye because the definer shade looks super pretty, and purples are my favorite. I think that purples and plums look amazing on green eyes.

IMG_1436

These are the swatches. Sorry that the base shade is very close to my skin tone. These all swatched nicely. I will say that with these I don’t foresee myself being able to use only this palette. That’s one of my only beefs with these little palettes in general. I feel like I can’t do a completely look with them, personally.

wet n wild fall 2015

This one is called “Don’t be a Poser.” This palette is all shimmers, but the darkness in it just spoke to me on some weird level. I kinda want to pair this one with my Milano palette and do some super grunge looks to summon the colder weather.

IMG_1426

These all swatched nicely, but the “crease” shade did give me a bit of kick up. It’s still probably my favorite shade in this palette. It’s a really lovely dark forest green shade.

Even though I am happy with these, I wish there were more matte shades overall. I know that I am not the only one that likes to use matte shades in the crease and lower lash line. I would have loved to have seen a palette with a true dark matte orange and matte black. Or one with a shimmery champagne mixed with a lot of neutral/warmer matte shades. Maybe I’m alone here, but that’s how I feel about many of these quintet palettes, which could be why I don’t own many of them.

wet n wild fall 2015

Now, time for the lipsticks. These lipsticks are incredible. They swatched so smoothly, and they are so pigmented. I love the darker shades in this line. If you are on a budget, but you want the browns and wines that are trending right now, keep your eyes peeled for this line in your local drugstores.

wet n wild fall 2015

From left to right: coffee buzz, vintage vibe, photobomb, nightcap

My two absolute favorites are Coffee Buzz and Photobomb. Not only is the name of Coffee Buzz perfect, but it’s like a brown with a bit of purple in it, which is really unique! These colors will probably be the among the first to sell out everywhere, so I would not hesitate to pick these up if you want them. The LE Wet n Wild lines do tend to sell out quickly in general.

In all, I’m not head over heels in love with the palettes, but I am head over heels in love with the lipsticks. There are a few reds in this collection as well, but I truly need to use some of the other reds in my collection and not buy anymore. This probably won’t happen, but I’m trying. I am curious to see how close in color Vintage Vibe is to Melt Cosmetics’ “Darkroom.”

Anyway, that’s all the swatches I have for today! Will you be picking up anything from this line? Let me know in the comments section! If I pick anything else up, I will make sure to do another post! If you want to see a look done with anything, please feel free to ask! Or, if you want to see lip swatches of any of the lipsticks done on my twitter, snapchat, or instagram, I can do that as well. I just did quick swatches so that you all can have a good idea of what everything looks like!

Have a good weekend, beauties. As always, thanks for reading!

Top 10 Wet n Wild Products (Video)

IMG_8288

Hey lovelies,

I know I don’t always post on Fridays, but I did upload a new video to my Youtube channel yesterday! It’s also a collab with Kaily from Hello Kaily which means you’re getting two videos! Well, technically four, because we’re both uploading “get ready with me” style videos next week *winks awkwardly*

I’m really happy that Kaily wanted to collab with me on this one, because I think with brand focused videos it’s awesome to see different points of view and an variety of products. That and if you’re nosy like me, you probably like to see why people prefer some products over another within a brand.

If you don’t follow Kaily or you’re not subscribed to her, definitely check her out! I will have her video linked in this post along with mine, and I have her channel link in the description bar.

I hope you all enjoyed this video! If you want to see any other brand focus videos, please let me know! Have a good day, beauties.

New Milani Matte Lipsticks: Swatches

milani matte

Hey lovelies,

Today’s Swatch Saturday post is going to be about some new Milani products I came across last week! I’ve seen pictures here and there about the new Limited Edition Rose Blushes, but not a lot about the new range of shades added to the Moisture Matte lipstick collection. While there are quite a few new shades, I believe these are permanent, unlike the blushes.

I’ve already done a full review before of Milani’s matte lipsticks that I will link at the end of the post, just to make this post a wee bit shorter, and therefore sweeter.

IMG_7623

On the display there were between 8-10 new shades from what I could see, but I only picked up four. I actually found these at my local Kmart, which has been my go-to place to find new Milani and Jordana collections. For some reason, the people in my area don’t pick through the Kmart displays and I can get what I want in one trip. If you’re someone that collects makeup, you’ll feel me on this one…it’s glorious.

I picked up the shades Matte Love, Matte Fearless, Matte Iconic, and Matte Beauty. Honestly, I’m so ecstatic that Milani expanded this line and included some vampier shades and more reds. I love this formula! Seriously, if I had to pick just one matte drugstore range to recommend to others, it would be from Milani. Maybe I’m a bit biased because Milani is one of my favorite drugstore brands, but I don’t care.

I’m also happy to announce that the new shades also smell like cupcakes. That’s what really matters here, right?

IMG_7631

One of the other reasons why I love Milani lip products is that they have those neat colored bottoms with the names on them. It makes storage and organization easier, and the gold packaging is adorable. I can’t believe that these lipsticks are only $4.99 since the packaging and lipsticks are amazing. It’s typically one or the other is kinda dud-tastic when it comes to drugstore lipsticks.

swatches from left to right: Matte Beauty, Matte Love, Matte Iconic, Matte Fearless

Matte Beauty is a very warm brown nude with a bit of red undertones. Lovely shade.

Matte Love is a warmer cranberry shade with warm undertones as well. I think this shade will look wonderful with cranberry eyeshadow looks this Fall.

Matte Iconic is a true bright red. This is my ideal “pinup” shade, and what I think of when I think about vintage reds. I absolutely adore this shade, mostly because I love red lipstick.

Matte Fearless is a gorgeous dark burgundy with slight purple undertones. My favorite of this bunch, and possibly in this collection so far.

My review of the Milani Moisture Matte Lipsticks: https://lunafayebeauty.com/2015/01/27/review-and-lip-swatches-milani-matte-lipsticks/

That about wraps up today’s swatch post! I hope you all enjoyed it! Are you picking up any of the new shades? If so, which ones? Tell me about it!

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you’re all having great weekends!

Face of the Day: Mauve

naked 3

Today’s “Face of the Day” features a few oldies and some newbies.

I love my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, but I find that I rarely pull it out for whatever reason. I’m trying to use it more, so I decided to do a mauve themed look.

naked 3

For my base I used the new BH Cosmetics HD Studio Pro foundation (review will be coming up soon once I test it out more) and I used the Too Faced HangoveRX primer just to hydrate my face a bit. I actually did powder my face a bit with the Laura Geller balance and brightening powder in “porcelain”

Contour is the darker shade from the “dulce de leche” Wet n Wild contour palette. This contour shade is awesome for pale skin tones, and it’s totally worth the $4 even though I can’t really use the highlighting side.

Blush is “Cameo” by Hikari Cosmetics, which is just a really pretty light pink shade. It’s also matte! I was so impressed by the shade “Tango” that I got from Hikari in my Ipsy bag, that I ended up taking advantage of their coupon code last month and ordered another blush. They’re really buttery and pigmented, and there’s a lot of product in the pan.

Highlight is “Spoon” by Colourpop Cosmetics, and I just did a full review with swatches on the 3 I ordered. Spoon is a lovely champagne shade, which is what I gravitate towards on a daily basis.

IMG_7234

My brows are Nyx Tame and Frame in “espresso” which might be a bit too light now that my hair is freshly dyed black, but oh well.

For my eyes I used “Tease” by Urban Decay as my transition shade, and then packed “Nooner” from the Naked 3 into my crease. I then took “Swan” by Colour pop and put that all over my lid, and then put “Liar” from the Naked 3 on the outer corner of my eye.

Liner is Physicians Formula eye booster in “Ultra black” and lashes are Kiss #11

Lower lash line is “Tease” and “Nooner” blended out with Rimmel Scandal eyes in “Nude” on my water line. Mascara is Covergirl Supersizer (also new to drugstores) “Strange” from the Naked 3 is on my brow bone, and “Swan” is my inner corner highlight.

IMG_7225

My lips are lined with “Lumiere” by Colourpop, with “Lala” by Nyx cosmetics over top. LaLa is like Thalia’s darker sister. A bit more brown toned, but still so so gorgeous. If you haven’t ever tried Nyx round case lipsticks, do it. They’re some of my favorite lipsticks in my collection, and that’s even over many of my higher end lipsticks.

IMG_7229

That’s it for today’s Face of the Day post, I really hope you all enjoyed this mauve themed look!

As always, thanks for reading, and if this is your first time stopping by my blog, I hope you decide to follow me and stay awhile!

ColourPop Highlighters

IMG_6679

Hey beauties,

I have another fun review today with swatches of some of my favorite things to collect right now…highlighters! Highlighters can accent parts of the face we want to bring out, and they can give us a luminous glow. I love playing around with highlighters, and lately I have been wanting to add some different kinds to my wee collection.

Okay, so if you follow me on Instagram or have watched my last tutorial, you probably already know that I’ve had these highlighters for a bit and I am sorry that I am just now getting around to reviewing and swatching them. I wanted to test them out a few times before I gave a full review! We all know how much I love Colourpop products, but how did these measure up to the things that already chill out in my collection? Keep reading to find out!

When I ordered off Colourpop (before my latest order, I’m always ordering off that site *sigh*) I hauled a few highlighters because I really wanted to try some of these out.

I will say that while ordering I had trouble even coming up with 3 that I wanted to try because the majority of them either looked the same to me, or would be more of a blush/bronzer on me than a highlight. However, I did end up finding 3 to try out that I felt would be suitable for my paler-than-the-moon skin.

I ended up getting “Hippo” “Smoke N Whistles” and “Spoon.”

Price: $8 each, same as the blushes

Consistency: Much like the blushes, buttery but a creamy-powdery type of texture.

colourpop highlighter

As you can tell, the packaging is the same standard packaging, but the highlighters lack the neat-o pattern on top that their other products have. I don’t mind, personally. I always feel bad for sticking my fingers into pretty patterns and ruining them quickly.

These highlighters are much like the blushes and feel creamy, but have a powder finish on the skin. They are much like the blushes, but in my opinion these feel softer and are easier to apply than the blushes. I will say that these highlighters have glitter in them…or at least the ones I ordered do. So, if you’re not about the shimmery highlight, these may not be for you. I’m all about that glitter life though, and I will say that these look less glittery on the cheeks than they do on the actual swatches.

As for application, these apply the same as the blushes as well. Best with your fingers (most pigmentation) but you can use a brush if you prefer. I prefer to use a brush, and lately the brush I have been using is the highlight end of my City Color Cosmetics dual ended contour brush. The Highlight side is pretty stiff and shaped like a paddle., so I feel it picks up the right amount of product. The Real Techniques expert face brush works well, also.

The one thing I will say is that if you have dry skin, you may want to apply these gently and build up. I kinda went a bit too glowy all at once the first time and messed my foundation up a bit in the process. When I applied it gently and buffed it out slowly I had no issue. I didn’t find that the product in general clung to dry spots or looked patchy on my skin though. It was probably just my mistake because makeup makes me so happy that I sometimes forget to breathe and think while applying, but I figured I would throw that tid bit out there just in case.

Staying power: these do last all day I feel. I will say that my skin is naturally dry so face products do stick to me (literally) for a bit longer, but after watching several other reviews on these I haven’t seen many people say that these didn’t last long on them.

IMG_6866

Swatches left to right: Smoke n Whistles, Spoon, Hippo

Smoke n Whistles: a champagne shade with a teeny bit of reflective pink in it.

Spoon: a champagne with silver sparkle

Hippo: cool toned lavender

I find that all of these suite my skin tone sooo well. Even though Smoke n Whistles and Spoon are champagne shades, the pink shimmer makes a huge difference between the two.

My favorite of these has to be Hippo. I can’t seem to put it down. If you have cool toned skin, you NEED this highlighter in your life. It’s so beautiful and has this lavender duo-chrome look to it. I find it hard to find “unique” highlighter shades that I can pull off with my skin tone, and Hippo is a very unique highlight that pairs so well with cool toned looks.

All 3 are absolutely gorgeous though, and I do recommend these to anyone that has been wanting to place an order.

There’s a great range of shades on their site, including some that would probably work best as blushes or blush toppers. There’s a few deeper shades that could be blushes on those with lighter skin tones, and they interest me quite a bit, honestly.

Overall, I’m really happy with this product and as usual, Colourpop knows how to release products. They always seem to release a pretty awesome range of shades so that everyone can find something.

Have you tried these highlighters out? What are your thoughts on them? After looking at more swatches and seeing more people rave about Monster, I think that’s one I’m going to pick up on my next order. Because, have you see the new quad Dani from CoffeeBreakwithDani has came up with?!? I’m gonna need it.

As always, thanks for reading, and have a great Saturday!

ColourPop Turns 1!

IMG_6846

So, if you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably already seen this picture. ColourPop Cosmetics turned 1 years old as a company, and they celebrated by sending out a free shadow with ANY purchase last week in the shade “Birthday Girl.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Colourpop, they’re an indie brand that has been taking youtube and instagram by storm lately. They have grown so much over the past year, because their products are affordable and very unique. I have posted a few reviews that I will link at the end of this post, but in a nutshell, I love their products. They’re cruelty free and there’s an absolutely stellar range of colors. They started out with only eyeshadows, then added lippies, then added blushes, then added highlighters, and most recently…bronzers.

What I love about this brand is their attention to detail and how they constantly keep everyone in suspense as we wait on what they’ll come out with next. I’m so happy that they have had a great deal of success this year, and I wish them nothing but the best as a company.

I only ordered 2 things this time, mostly because I really wanted “Birthday Girl.” Don’t judge me, the pretty pink packaging sucked me in. So, I ordered a super shock shadow from the “Rumer Has It” collection, which is a collab with Rumer Willis. I ordered “Swan” because Swan Lake is beautiful in general, and I have a massive soft spot for white shadows…and glitter.

White shadows are the only ones that really show up well on my fair skin, and there’s just something so classic about stark white shadow and bright red lips, which is a look I wear often.

The brush pictured is from Sedona Lace, but I will be talking about that later on 😉

If you’re unfamiliar with Colourpop’s super shock shadow formula, they’re very creamy and not creamy at the exact same time. Very pigmented, very smooth, and rarely require primer if you wear them alone. For $5 a piece, these are some of my favorite single shadows, and I don’t buy single shadows very often.

colourpop birthday girl

Left is “Birthday Girl” which is a really pretty bronze shade and right is “Swan” which is a glittery and gorgeous white shade.

Both of these swatches are done over no primer, and I barely swirled my finger around in each pot to get this pigmentation. These are intense.

However, when I was looking closely at Swan I noticed it reminded me of something I already own…”Polyester Bride” by Urban Decay, which is my favorite inner corner highlight to use…and it’s $18 for the single shadow.

IMG_6853

Left: Polyester Bride by Urban Decay $18

Right: Swan by Colourpop $5

Well, they’re similar but still different. Colourpop’s has more glutter in it and Polyester Bride is more shimmery and a has a bit more silver in it. However, if you’re not too weird about little details, Swan might be a great and affordable alternative if you’re been wanting Polyester Bride, which I do recommend as a shade.

Anyway, that’s about it for today’s quick little post. I will be doing a review with swatches soon of the Colourpop Highlighters that I ordered a few weeks ago, so stay tuned!

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you decide to stay if you’re new to my blog!

Have a great night, lovelies.

Too Faced Natural Matte Palette

too faced natural matte

Hey lovelies,

Today, I have another palette review! This is going to be about the relatively new Too Faced Natural Eyes Matte palette. Not to be mistaken with their original Natural Eyes palette (one of my personal favorites).

This palette is $36 on http://www.toofaced.com or on sephora.com, but I actually snagged this for 20% using a code from Ipsy. There are two new palettes right now on Too Faced, a matte one and a colorful one. You all know how much I love matte shadows…and neutrals, so yeah, I needed this one.

IMG_6320

too faced natural matte

First off, there are 9 shades in this palette. There are a couple of repeat shades from the original, but I don’t mind. The repeat shades are Heaven, Garter Belt, Sexpresso, and Nudie. I love those shades in the original, so I honestly don’t mind having duplicates of them. However, if that bugs you keep it in mind if you’re debating on getting this.

IMG_6319

This is the side by side comparison. Even though there are duplicate shades, these palettes are very different outside of the fact that the original has shimmer shades.

The shades that drew me in and basically seduced me were “chocolate cookie” and “honey butter.” Those shades just looked so damn pretty to me.

I do feel there is a good balance of warm and cooler shades in this palette.

The shadows did kick up a bit when I first tried them (mostly chocolate cookie) but it wasn’t too bad. The colors are still very blendable and buttery.

In terms of pigmentation, these are pretty pigmented, but maybe not as pigmented as my Kat Von D Shade + Light eye palette. I have a feeling I may be comparing every palette I buy this year to that one.

If I had to choose between the two for life threatening reasons, I would go with the Kat Von D one. Unless you’re a collector or just really freakin’ love palettes, you probably won’t need bother. Too Faced is my second favorite brand of all time though, so I wanted it for obvious personal reasons.

Hey, this is a non judging zone.

IMG_6290

Left to right: heaven, cashmere bunny, sexpresso, lace teddy, strapless, risque, nudie, honey butter, chocolate cookie

I did these swatches over no primer.

Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase and I don’t feel it’s a redundant thing for me to have, even though I already own the original. I feel the colors blend easily and look beautiful over primed eyelids. Chocolate cookie and Honey Butter are everything, in my opinion. I really love those two colors. This packaging is also very travel friendly.

Attached is a first impression with me using the shadows and a matte brown smokey eye tutorial 🙂

Wet n Wild Milano Palette

wet n wild milano

Normally, I post swatches with reviews on Saturdays, but I’m feeling spontaneous today. I’m thinking about doing a “palette love” post on Saturday where I pull a palette out of my collection and create a look with it? Let me know if you all would be interested in that! The palettes I have in mind are Revealed (1 or 2), Innerstellar, the Pulp Fiction Urban Decay palette, or my Too Faced Natural eyes palette. Comment down below if you’re interested and what you would wanna see!

Hey lovelies,

Guess what I found? The neutral Wet n Wild palette that I have been searching high and low for! I discovered one Walgreens in my city that had a display for them, but was always sold out of them. Well, I got lucky and went there on a day when they had gotten some in stock.

I know that I reviewed the “Paris Runway” version of this palette and wasn’t too impressed. I really had my heart set on the neutral one because Hollie from Hollieeatslipstick reviewed it and loved it, and I fell in love with it as well.

Well, I was in Walgreens and noticed that the Milano palette was in stock! I didn’t ask questions, I just bought it. At $8, it’s hardly a bank breaker. That and I believe these are not permanent? I’ve missed out on so many limited edition palettes that I just decided to add this one to my collection as well.

I purchased this palette myself, and all opinions are my own. 🙂

Alright, so a quick overview of the palette:

Price: $8
Shades: 10
What it claims: to have a good range of matte and shimmers to create neutral looks
Did it deliver: yes

If you read my review on the Paris Runway palette (the cool toned version from this line) I didn’t have great things to say about the shade range. The quality was there, but the darker shades looked the same to me and on the eyes when blended out.

However, the neutral companion has a nice shade range that I love! There are actually mattes in this one, including a nice transition shade and a crease shade. There are 3 shades that are matte, a light brown, dark brown, and a black. The first cream shade is a bit more of a satin matte, but is a nice brow bone highlight or base shade.

I love this palette 1000% more than the Paris Runway one.

I don’t feel I should go too into detail again since I did a review of the other one (see that review here), but the quality is amazing for a drugstore palette. The shades are pigmented and blend easily. The shadows feel very buttery to the touch.

There’s a bit of fallout with a few of the very shimmery shades, but that’s common when there’s a lot of shimmer and glitter in an eyeshadow.

Tip: use a glitter primer (elf makes one for $2) prior to putting on a shimmery shade to really make the shade stand out and gleam from the dang sky! Also, putting on concealer and setting powder under the eyes before applying eyeshadow makes it easy to brush away any fallout that can occur with eyeshadows. Putting a matte shade on the lids after priming can help blend shadows out as well!

Overall thoughts: I’m so impressed with this palette and happy I finally found it! The Paris Runway palette might not be my style, but this one is beautiful and makes my neutral heart happy. The matte shades blend really well and there’s not too much fallout (but there was a bit) and they aren’t chalky.

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed this quick review with swatches!
Wet n Wild is one of my favorite drugstore brands!
