Jordana Sweet Cream Liquid Lipstick Review!

jordana liquid lipstick

I recently uploaded a new video to my Youtube channel! I know I didn’t post last week, but I was incredibly sick, and ended up in the emergency room last Friday. Good news is, I’m getting better, and I feel well enough to film and try to play catch up around my house.

I asked Instagram and Facebook which drugstore liquid lipstick I should review next, and the polls were pretty torn. Jordana barely won. With that being said, if you were team velvet mousse, I’m trying those out this week so I can post a review next week!

I found my Jordana lipsticks at Kmart for $2.99 each. Be warned, these have been super popular and a bit difficult for many to find. I lucked out and found mine the day they had been restocked, but even then, creme brûlée was sold out. That’s the one other shade I want!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this review, and I hope it’s informative. If you’re not subscribed to my youtube channel already, be sure to do so if you want to see what I post on there as soon as it’s uploaded!

As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’re all having wonderful days!

Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette

too faced peanut butter and jelly

Hey lovelies,

Are you all ready for Spring? I have some odd feelings towards Spring. I like early Spring when it’s still cooler and I can layer, but my allergies do not enjoy Spring. It’s my worst season as an asthmatic. I will say that the Winter in my city was not so great and felt like Spring most days, so maybe the transition will be easier.

Today, I want to share a new eyeshadow palette with you all! Yes, momma did a bit too much shopping. I saw little sneak peaks of this palette floating around on Instagram before it was released, and I had convinced myself I didn’t need it. Well, then Too Faced sent out a 20% off code and offered a deluxe sized Better than Sex mascara (my holy grail) and a lipstick with any purchase, and I caved.

The one blogger that kind of convinced me this would be fun to play around with was Jkissa. I love how she put the purple in the inner corner, and I thought it was a fun twist on a warm toned look!

Now, warm toned shadows were not my thing a year ago. I was a cool gal all the way. I’ve since expanded my horizons and I’ve learned to take any warm palette and grunge it up a bit. There’s something about a warm grungy smokey eye that is so timeless to me.

Anyway, on to the actual palette. This is a limited edition palette from Too Faced that can be found on their website or on Ulta’s website. I don’t know if it’s in Ulta stores yet, or if it will be. This palette looks like the other small tin palettes from Too Faced, which we all know I love and still use quite often.

What I like about many of these tin palettes are that they are adorable, and the ones I have can be used for everyday looks and night time looks. The packaging is travel friendly as well.

This palette retails at $36, which is the same price as all the other 9 shade tin palettes.

Right off the bat, I love the shade variety in this palette. There are purples, oranges, a gold, peach, and even a white shade that can work on the brow bone. There are two matte “transition” shades that can be worn separately or used together. That’s going to make this palette versatile, and it’ll be easy for even beginners to create looks without it being too intimidating. Sometimes we all just need to go back to the basics.

Second, look at that freakin packaging. Hands down the cutest palette Too Faced has released so far, in my opinion.

too faced peanut butter and jelly

Too Faced is known for releasing cute products, which is why I don’t mind spending a bit more money on them. If I’m going to spend decent money on a product, I would prefer for it to be aesthetically pleasing. This also makes it a nice collector’s piece.

This palette is supposed to smell like peanut butter, which actually sets it apart from the other tin palettes. However, I think it smells more like chocolate.

too faced peanut butter and jelly

Of course, every shade is reminiscent of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I will admit I have never been a fan of bananas on my peanut butter sandwiches though. I also like crunchy peanut butter over creamy, and strawberry jelly over grape.

As for swatches, these were done over no primer. The shades swatches very easily and felt super smooth, which is something I experience often with Too Faced shadows in general.

too faced peanut butter and jelly

From the wrist down: Nuts about you, Jelly, Extra Creamy, Jammin, Peanut Brittle, Bananas, Peanut Butter Cup, Peanut Butter, Spread the Love

What I love about this palette: Great pigmentation, smooth shades, several mattes for transition, a pop of color, a matte white to highlight, blends easily

What I don’t love: Spread the love was the only shade that didn’t blow me away. It’s pretty sheer, but it’ll probably look lovely layered over another shade.

I did create a look with this palette last week and paired it with the Natural Matte palette. If you have the Natural Matte palette, the Peanut Butter and Jelly one will pair perfectly with it!

too faced peanut butter and jelly

Here I used a lot of the shades and used Bananas over top of Peanut Butter cup on the lid. The result was beautiful! I feel Jelly works really well in the inner corner if you love an interesting pop of color in your looks.

too faced peanut butter and jelly

My overall thoughts on this palette are that this is worth the purchase if you’re someone that collects these or wants a new warm toned palette for Spring and Summer. I feel this palette has the right mixture of shades to create soft and bold looks, and I love that Too Faced finally put a matte white in a palette.

I think this is a palette that will work on many different skin tones. I know a lot of fellow pale humans fear warm shades, I know I did, but they’re growing on me. Over the past 6 months I’ve learned to love them and I like the warmth some shades give my look on days that I feel super tired and mom-bie like.

What are your thoughts on this palette? Will you be picking it up? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section!

As always, thank you for stopping by. I hope you all found this helpful or entertaining in some way!

Shop My Stash: Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks

wet n wild megalast

Hey beauties!

I haven’t done a shop my stash piece in a while, and someone on my instagram suggested that I post swatches of all my Megalast Lipstick collection! I loved the idea, so here I am today.

Honestly, if you follow me anywhere it’s no secret that I love this lipstick formula. It’s the one that I suggest to everyone that’s wanting to explore lipstick for the first time or wants to try vampy shades or reds.

Why? They don’t break the bank. These are $1.99 at most drugstores, and they go on sale often at places like CVS and Walgreens. I find these BOGO 50% off very often! A few years ago, I was laid off from my job and I was not in the best financial situation. These lipsticks became a bit of a treat for me. I would wait for a coupon and stack it with a sale and get these for free or close to free.

So, this particular line of lipsticks has a bit of nostalgic value to me as well. A reminder that even when you’re low, a little bit of pretty lipstick can brighten your day. Well, it did for me.

Anyway, there’s not too much that I can say about these lipsticks that hasn’t been said a million times! They’re very pigmented, semi matte yet still hydrating, and they last a long time on the lips! I will always love these…and I have 17 of them.

Swatches from wrist down: Spiked with Rum, Mauve Outta Here, Cherry Pickin, Think Pink

Wrist down: Spotlight Red, Celeb Sighting (LE), Red Velvet, Purty Persimmon

wet n wild megalast

Wrist down: Cinnamon Spice, Nightcap (LE), Bare it All, Mocha-licious

wet n wild megalast

Wrist down: Vamp it up, Coffee Buzz (LE), Vintage Vibe (LE), Photobomb (LE), Bitten Bourdeaux

Out of all 17 I own, Mochalicious, Bare it all, Cinnamon Spice, and Spiked with Rum are the ones from the permanent collection that I highly recommend. These are all very trendy shades for anyone too nervous to try vampy shades or on a budget.

However, I have an undying love for this latest set of Limited Edition shades. I’ll link my post about them at the end, but they’re honestly the best ones they’ve come out with yet, in my opinion.

My only gripe with these are the packaging. I always get product on the lid, no matter how careful I am not to. It’s also pretty flimsy and can bust easily if not handled carefully. These are also $2 lipsticks, so what really matters is the product. I personally don’t buy these for the aesthetics, they are just incredible lipsticks.

I do wish Wet n Wild would make all the lipsticks matte black like their limited edition collection. The matte black looks a bit less cheap. Once again, that’s strictly an opinion.

If you’re in the market for an awesome cruelty free drugstore lipstick, please look into these. If you already have some, which ones do you own and love? I would love to hear about it! Chances are, I will end up owning all of these eventually.

Also, what all would you want to see next from my collection? Milani Lipsticks or an updated Nyx round case or high voltage lipstick post? Let me know!

As always, thanks for reading if you made it this far, and I hope you all are having wonderful days!

Shop My Stash: Everyday Fall Z-Palette

morphe shadows

Hey lovelies,

Today I’m going to be doing another “shop my stash” type of post! I wanted to share my current “everday” Z-palette. I just have a small one since I am more of a palette kinda gal, but I have been reaching for these shadows often the past month when I need something simple, yet quick to put on my eyes. I have a go-to style when it comes to shadows. I like a bold crease, bright lid, and dark outer corners. I just find it’s flattering to my eye shape, and these shadows are fool proof for creating that.

morphe shadows

From the wrist down:

Makeup Geek “Bitten:” This is one of my all time favorite single shadows right now. It’s so pigmented and smooth, and is a gorgeous burgundy color. I feel there are a lot of burgundy shades that aren’t very pigmented or are a bit too dry, but this one blends wonderfully.

Morphe’s “Creme Brulee:” Not to be mistaken with Makeup Geek’s Creme Brulee, this shade is super dark and cool toned. I love it though. I think that an everyday fall look for me will probably always include either dark browns or red tones, and this one is really lovely, and very affordable!

Morphe’s “Deep Cocoa:” I’ve been wanting this shade for awhile since Jaclyn Hill uses it often, and it’s such a pretty red toned brown! I’m obsessed with red toned browns, but my other favorite one is in the Revealed 2 palette, and deep cocoa is nice to have in my Z Palette on days when I don’t want to dig through a million palettes to create a look.

Morphe’s “Caramalized:” Very pretty warm brown shade. This looks pretty in the crease as a definer or as a transition shade if you use a light hand. There’s not much I can say about this shade other than it’s one that I felt completed this palette.

Morphe’s “Pink Moscato:” Ah, the only shimmery shade. Honestly, I don’t need any other shimmers in this palette with this shade front and center. I am a sucker for pink shimmery shades because you can wear them with cool toned looks or warm toned looks. This shade is super pigmented and very buttery to the touch. One that I highly recommend ordering if you love a glamorous lid for Fall.

Morphe’s “Secretive:” Another shade I wanted from the Jaclyn Hill favorites palette that I never snagged. However, this shade disappoints me a bit. It’s still very lovely, but as you can all probably see, it swatches a bit patchy. Now, it does perform way better on the lid, but if I had to choose between this and Makeup Geek’s Bitten, I would choose Bitten.

Makeup Geek’s “Cocoa Bear:” This is a cult favorite, and rightfully so. It’s the perfect orange toned brown shade. I know that once upon a time I said I didn’t like warm tones, but lately they’ve been growing on me. This past year has been one of enormous growth for me makeup wise, and I feel like I can comfortably wear warm tones…and if they make me look sick…okay. Ha!

Makeup Geek’s “Preppy:” The perfect shade of baby puke! I’m kidding, but not really. This is one of those odd khaki shades that is weirdly appealing. I have a thing for tastefully tacky shades of eyeshadow, and this one is still very lovely in the crease.

Makeup Geek’s “Creme Brulee:” My holy grail transition shade. If I don’t know what to transition a look with, I usually reach for this one. It’s one that I recommend for anyone with fair skin. It’s the perfect undertone that isn’t too orange or cool toned, and it will easily blend away in a look if you need it to. I’m actually surprised I haven’t hit pan on this one yet!

morphe shadows

This is an example of an everyday fall go-to look for me. Shimmery shade, warm crease, and dark outer corner with winged liner and lashes. I know that this is a lot to many people, but I’m a very “all or nothing” kind of person I guess.

Anyway, that’s it for today’s post! I hope you all enjoy these little peaks into my stash! As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend filled with pumpkin spice whatevers or apple cider thingies.

Fall Lipstick Challenge Update 4 with Photos

Hey lovelies,

It’s time for another Fall lipstick challenge update! Actually, this will be my last one! I’m honestly not ready for this month to end, I had a blast trying out different lipsticks and discovering new and old favorites! I do have one more day left after this update goes live, but I will share that on Instagram. So, if you want follow my Instagram (@lunafayebeauty) to see the rest. I will be making a video of my top 10 favorites of the month, which will be the shades that I feel are absolutely needed for a Fall lip product lover this season. So, without further adieu, let’s get on with the photos:

coloured raine soul

Day 23: Coloured Raine Soul & LaSplash Cryptic. I was really feeling a gray ombre lip this day. I ordered Cryptic awhile back, but it is really light and washes me out a bit, but I was really digging this lip look. Soul is a really pretty dark gray shade, and I positively love the Coloured Raine formula. It’s a bit thicker in texture so it’s easier to work with, and they are very long lasting!

nyx soft spoken

Day 24: Colourpop Tulle & Nyx Soft Spoken. I know, another ombre lip. I really wanted to wear both of these during this month and realized that September is coming to a close! I do love how this turned out though. Soft Spoken is a really gorgeous dusty rose shade for Fall, or any time, really.

pretty zombie cosmetics black cat

Day 25: Pretty Zombie Cosmetics “Black Cat.” I could not end a month of Fall lipsticks without pulling out a shade of black. Pretty Zombie Cosmetics makes some of the most pigmented liquid lipsticks, and this black does not disappoint. I have not ordered any other black liquid lipsticks simply because this one is so incredible. As I mentioned before, it’s not long lasting, but this black liquid lipstick doesn’t feather on me at all which is something black lipsticks in general can do. I will sacrifice long wear for no feathering. As much as I love Marilyn Manson, the smeared black lipstick look just doesn’t look cute on me.

nyx betwitching

Day 26: Nyx Simply Vamp lip cream in “Bewitching.” I’m sorry for the bad photo quality, I was super busy this day. However, I love the Nyx simply vamp lip crayons. Bewitching is a really pretty purply red color. These aren’t long lasting and I’m not in love with the packaging, but the product makes up for it.

milani matte love

Day 27: Milani “Matte Love.” We all know I have a love for the Milani Matte lipsticks, and this shade is no different. I love this shade of cranberry. It’s pretty enough to wear with a neutral eye and still make a statement. I could go on and on about this formula, but I believe I have already done that in another post.

la girl poetic

Day 28: LA Girl “Poetic.” I’m so sorry for the awful quality photo, this day was unexpectedly hectic for me, and by the time I was able to sit down I was a sweaty and hot mess…literally. However, I will be doing a full review of these lipsticks soon. Poetic is a GORGEOUS blue toned gray shade, and has been compared to Melt’s Space Cake! It’s a really close dupe, which is why I settled for this one instead of getting Melt’s. If you want to see what I’m talking about, go to dupethat.com! They post the best dupes 😀

jeffree star cosmetics unicorn

Day 29: Jeffree Star Cosmetics “Unicorn Blood.” Did you all really expect me to wear everything but my Jeffree Star Velour Liquid lipsticks this month? I know I talk about this shade sooo often, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. It’s not patchy, feels comfortable, and withstood me drinking coffee all day since I was so turned up (is that how that saying goes?) for National Coffee Day. Excuse my awkward hand. I have no idea what I was gonna slap in this photo.

That’s it for this update! I honestly had a blast with this Fall lipstick challenge. I will probably continue to do fun lipstick swatches and looks on Instagram, which wasn’t something I normally did, but you all responded so well to it and that makes me so happy! Well, anything lipstick related makes me happy.

I hope you all enjoyed these posts, and let me know what your favorite(s) were! As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all having wonderful days.

Fall Lipstick Challenge Week 3 Update & Photos

Hey lovelies,

We’re 3 weeks into my personal Fall lipstick challenge! Yay! I have honestly had so much fun doing lip swatches everyday and trying out new lipsticks and digging out old favorites. I kind of don’t want this to end. Thirty days has not seemed like enough, I have way too much lipstick. Anyway, on to what was on my lips last week..

jordana matte frappucino

Day 16: Nyx’s liner in “Espresso” topped with Jordana’s matte lipstick in “Matte Frappucino.” I really like how this combo turned out. I think this is a wearable brown lipstick without being too dark, and even if you bought both products it’s going to be very affordable. The Jordana matte lipsticks are actually quite nice, and they wear very comfortably. My only beef is the packaging is super cheap and the names all rub off quickly, which is a pet peeve of mine, especially as a blogger.

makeup monsters hit the dirt

Day 17: Makeup Monsters “Hit the Dirt” I ordered two shades when these were restocked a few weeks back, and I am just now getting a chance to try them out. Makeup Monsters actually reformulated their liquid lipsticks and they are not long lasting! This shade lasted through 2 cups of coffee and lunch without budging, so it’s pretty awesome! I plan on doing an updated video regarding their brand soon with lip swatches of every one that I own.

makeup monsters blackened heart

Day 18: Colourpop’s “Pitch” topped with Makeup Monsters “Blackened Heart.” I actually filmed a video wearing the look in this picture, but I am in love with this lip combo. I love finding things in my collection and revamping them by combining them, and this day I took out two lippies that needed some love and created a beautiful Fall color.

colourpop guess

Day 19: Colourpop’s “Guess” topped with La Girl’s lip glaze in “Tempt.” I woke up the morning I took this feeling like death. I have asthma, so any cold I get goes straight to my respiratory system. However, I’m quite used to it so I mustered up the will powder to put on enough makeup to look presentable and go grocery shopping. I wanted something a bit glossier since my nose was stuffy, so I put this LA Girl glaze over a liquid lipstick. They paired wonderfully, and even more importantly, the glaze didn’t get on my teeth!

pretty zombie cosmetics dahlia

Day 20: Pretty Zombie Cosmetics “Dahlia.” I can’t go a month without wearing one of my all time favorite liquid lipsticks. Dahlia is the perfect shade for Fall. These liquid lipsticks aren’t long lasting, but they do last quite a while and feel super comfortable on the lips. I was actually in love with how this entire look turned out this day, but I did not think to film it. Go figure.

wet n wild photobomb

Day 21: Wet n Wild’s “Photobomb.” If you follow me on Snapchat, you probably saw me with a red lip. Well, I changed it. I wanted to wear this one since it’s new and pretty and oozes Fall vibes. I love the megalast lipsticks, and this shade is really lovely. But hurry, it’s limited edition so it won’t be around forever! Scarf is from Kohl’s and it’s new 🙂

colourpop LBB

Day 22: Colourpop’s “LBB.” I really wanted to wear a more wine-ish berry shade of lipstick, and this is one of my favorites. I love the Colourpop matte formula, they apply so easily and stay put for a bit despite being a bit more hydrating. I think this shade flatters many skin tones, and I haven’t seen it look bad on anyone yet! Necklace is from Bella Morta Jewelry.

That’s it for today’s update post! What were some of your favorites from last week? I really love Hit the Dirt and the Pitch and Blackened Heart combo, personally. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

I hope you’re all having wonderful days, and I will be back tomorrow for this week’s ‘Face of the Day” post!

Fall Lipstick Challenge Update + Overview

Hey lovelies,

urban decay shame

Day 1: Urban Decay “Shame” lined with Colourpop’s “Creature” lippie pencil. I really loved this combo, and it was the lip look I was wearing in last week’s “Face of the Day” post. It’s such a gorgeous deep berry shade, and the finish of the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks are semi matte, moisturizing, and actually do stay put for quite some time, especially when paired with a liner. I actually scored this lipstick off Glambot during a clearance sale, and it’s definitely made me think that I may need some more of these in my life sometime soon. I’ve been eyeballing the new matte ones lately…especially 1993.

colourpop creeper

Day 2: Milani Liner in “True Red” and Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick in “Creeper.” There’s nothing I love more than a bright, true red. This combination makes my heart flutter. I made a post on instagram stating that if you own the ultra matte lipsticks and you don’t enjoy the feeling, try them with a liner to create a barrier between your lips and the liquid lipstick. Milani’s true red is the perfect shade match for Creeper.

nyx liquid suede lipstick

Day 3: Nyx Liquid Suede Lippie in “Amethyst.” Oh, this shade. It’s the blurple of my dreams. These lipsticks are all incredible so far. They set well on my lips and aren’t too drying. They’re pigmented, and though they don’t last long, I still love them. I’m going to be doing a full video review with lip swatches of these, but this one was too gorgeous to not slather on my lips.

notoriously morbi lilith

Day 4: Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics “Lilith.” This is my first purchase from this indie brand, and I did so because Sharie from SecondhandSweetness swatched it and raved about this brand, and I was hooked when I saw this color. It’s so damn pretty. It’s the dark burgundy of my dreams. It’s the perfect mix of red and brown. These are vegan and cruelty free FYI, and they are only $9 a piece, and from what I could tell, pretty long lasting. Definitely worth looking into.

kat von d lolita

Day 5: Kat Von D “Lolita.” This is a cult favorite liquid lipstick, and my first ever liquid lipstick. It’s what started my obsession with liquid to matte formulas, so it has a bit of a sentimental value to me. I’m also pretty sure mine is part of the “bad” batch since it’s more brown than dusty rose, but I love this shade and haven’t bothered to purchase the newer batch because of it. If I’m not mistaken, Kat Von D will be releasing a shade that looks similar to this one since it was so popular.

city color cosmetics hibiscus martini

Day 6: City Color Cosmetics “Hibiscus Martini.” I ordered 3 of the new creamy lip stain shades the day they came out. I almost didn’t order this one, but then I saw the lady’s from TheLipSwatch on Instagram swatch it, and I decided I needed it. Okay, I needed it like I need another hole in my face, but look at this shade. It screams Fall to me. It’s a burnt red color that doesn’t look too orange. Though I don’t mind burnt orange colors since I just ordered one of the Ofra Cosmetics and KathleenLights collab lipsticks…oops.

nyx vintage

Day 7: Nyx Liquid Suede “Vintage.” I know, I wore two shades from this line in one week. In my defense, I’m still testing these out so I can put a video review with lip swatches together before these are released in Ulta stores on 9/24. This shade is a gorgeous deep plummy-red shade. I’ll speak more about this formula and such in my full review though.

city color cosmetics triple berry spritzer

Day 8: City Color Cosmetics “Triple Berry Spritzer.” I did this one because someone requested a swatch of it. It’s so freakin’ gorgeous though. I feel this would be a really pretty and flirty darker nude for Fall. Not everyone is into the darker colors, and I understand that. I want to throw a variety of shades into the mix this month. This is another one of the new shades from the Creamy Lips line. These glide on like butter. Definitely a formula you could keep in your purse to throw on while in a hurry.

During the first week of the challenge I realized I could keep this going for several months if I wanted to. I told you all I am obsessed with lipstick. We’re all allowed to have our guilty pleasures, right? Mine is lipstick, coffee, and diet coke. I think it could be worse.

Anyway, that’s it for this week! I hope you’re all enjoying these posts and the swatches on Instagram.

Speaking of Instagram, you can still join in and show my your favorite fall shades using #lunaloveslipstick

There are some that have been doing so!

Elf Moisturizing Lipsticks (NEW SHADES)

elf moisturizing lipsticks

Hey beauties,

It’s Monday.  The day that many dread. If you have the Monday blues and you’re wanting something to read, what’s better to read than a review on some newly released products? Better yet, new lipstick. I know it’s not Saturday, but I did swatches of some things from Wet n Wild this past Saturday. Two swatch posts in a row is okay, right?

Anyway, I have some swatches today of 4 out of 8 of the new Elf (eyes lips face) moisturizing lipsticks. I snagged these during a not so “secret” release. I’ve honestly not tried many lip products from Elf outside of the Matte Lip Crayons, so I was happy to add some of these shades to my cart. I also found a free shipping code and ebates always has cash back for elf, so I paid less than $12 for all 4 shades in the end.

elf moisturizing lipsticks

First off, the packaging is really cute.Personally, I like simple packaging. It’s very chic. The color blocks are on the bottom, which makes these easier to store and organize so you’re not left guessing which shade is which. The price is $3 a piece, and I believe that Elf said these would be limited edition.

The smell of these is a very light vanilla scent. I did find that these apply very smooth and because they have Vitamin E in them, they are indeed hydrating.

However, I am not impressed with the pigmentation of these. I guess because these were so hyped I was expecting more, but these are more of a sheer formula. I know that many people prefer sheer formulas, but I do not. Especially with darker shades. I opened up “bourdeaux beauty” expecting a lush dark red shade, and instead I got a sheer red shade. It’s lovely, yes, just not for me.

I wanted to be upfront about that. I am not saying these are bad, they just probably won’t get much use in my own collection, which means I will probably pass them along to my mom.

IMG_1415

Because I did not spend a lot on these, I am not totally heartbroken. I was expecting more, and I feel this might be the last Elf lip product I try for a bit. I love my matte lip crayons, but these just missed the mark for me. Am I the only one that feels this way? I’ve seen people on Instagram raving about the pigmentation of these, and I can’t figure out if they’re being nice, or if I got a bad batch or something since I did order these as soon as they were released. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled on liquid lippies at the moment.

IMG_1416

From left to right: Marsala Blush, Berry Kiss, Bourdeaux Beauty, Black Berry

These are what the swatches looked like after I passed over it twice. So, the color is buildable. For $3 each I think that these are awesome if you like a more sheer finish, but I personally like more pigmented formulas of lipstick. These are quite hydrating though, and remind me of the Revlon lip butters. So, if you’ve always wanted to try those and only shop cruelty free, you may be a fan of these.

What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Chat with me in the comments!

As always, thanks for reading! I hope that if you’re new to my blog that you will stay awhile! It’s free and fun 😀

Have a good day, loves.

Swatch Video: J.Cat Beauty Liptitude 24/7 Lip StainsWIld

jcat lipstick

Hey loves,

I uploaded a video to my Youtube channel last night! I think Friday may become my upload day? I dunno, still working on it. Anyway, I did a review + lip swatches of 5 out of 14 of the new J.Cat Beauty hydrating lip stains.

A few quick things:

These are highly pigmented.

They are semi matte.

The red ones do stain.

I love the heck out of this formula and the colors I swatched.

I bought all of these myself, except for the two that I got off Ipsy, but I also pay for that subscription every month.

The more I try from J.Cat Beauty, the more impressed I am. This formula is awesome, and until the August 1st you can get 25% off on these on their site.

Please watch my video and let me know what you think and if you like lip swatch videos!

Wet n Wild: Hemporary Solutions

IMG_7917

Hey loves,

Today for my “Swatch Saturday” post I am going to be sharing something rather colorful! I know, color is something that is rarely on my blog. I’m a neutral kind of gal. However, when I stumbled on this palette (and another, but more on that in a few) some of the colors reminded me of shades I have seen in the Urban Decay Electric palette and in a few Sugarpill palettes. You know, palettes that I lust over but won’t spend the money on because I know I don’t reach for bright colors often. Those palettes.

Well, I have a solution! However, you may want to find these quick, because what I’m about to talk about is limited edition. I can hear you all sighing already. I’m so sorry. I wish limited edition and affordable eyeshadow palettes just weren’t a thing. It’s heartbreaking.

Anyway, this palette is by Wet n Wild, and I found it at my local Kmart. However, Wet n Wild can also be found at Walgreens and CVS. It was $5, and there are 8 shadows in the palette. That is essentially 62 cents per shadow, hell yes. There are 6 matte shades and 2 shimmer shades. I like that there are a few shimmery shades, because all matte bright colors can look a bit odd on my eyes, and the shimmer helps to balance that out a bit.

First thing I noticed is that every single color is bright. Super bright. If you’re someone that likes a warm transition shade, you will definitely need to pull from another palette, or you could possibly mix the white with another shade to create a lighter transition shade.

I only tried this once on my eyes so far, and I will say that even with a primer the pink and red kind of stained my eyelid a bit. Meaning, these are freakin’ intense. The pigmentation on these is superb, and reminds me of the former Wet n Wild quality from a few years ago that I’ve missed oh so much.

As far as I can tell from the few times I have tried this out, the shades are very blendable. They applied smoothly and didn’t look too chalky or drying on my lids. The colors didn’t look muddy and the same on my lids, which is a plus.

These are swatches of all 8 shades. Are you seeing that yellow and red? I would have paid the money just for those two shades! I have been looking for an affordable and nice yellow for awhile, because I want to go all out when we take my daughters to the Minions movie. Yes, I went there. Mom life. Minion life.

Do I recommend these? Yes. A million times yes. All of the yes in the world. If you see these, snag one of each in the collection, because like I said they won’t be around forever. If you like to play with color sometimes, but don’t want to spend $40+ on a palette to do so, check these out. There are 3 in the collection, and for $15 total you can walk out with 24 different shades to play with. That is a win in my makeup book.

Have you seen these? Have you picked one up, or are you going to? Let me know what your thoughts are! I’m totally going to play around with this palette more, and if I come up with a neat look I will post it! I may even post my minion look.

As always, thanks for reading if you made it this far! I hope you all enjoyed this short and sweet swatch saturday post. I picked up another one of these palettes that I will be posting swatches of soon!

Have a good day, lovelies.
