My Questions-

1. what’s your dream job and why?

I would love to do anything artistic and make a little money doing so. I love painting, drawing, and creating in general. They don’t call them “starving artists” for nothing though.

2.If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I’ve been to one of dream cities, Paris. I do want to travel through Ireland with just a camera and a backpack.

3.Would you rather only ever use mascara or only ever use concealer?

I will say concealer. I have said this a million times, but concealer takes me from Tim Burton character to normal human being in less than a minute.

4.What’s the best beauty advice you have ever been given?

“Makeup is fun. Do whatever you want, but make sure it’s for you.”

5. what’s your favourite high street clothes store?

High street? I live on broke street. I like Forever 21.

6. what does your typical spa night include?

A glass of wine and a book. I’m usually too tired for much else. Is Netflix a spa?

7. sweet or savoury?

I would say savoury. I don’t eat too many sweet things.

8.what’s your favourite thing about blogging?

The community! I’ve made a few friends blogging and I truly love finding supportive and empowering people. I have loved reading about people’s lives and their journeys. I love everything about blogging, honestly.

9. who’s your biggest inspiration?

My mother. If I can become half the parent and woman she is, I will feel satisfied with my life. Maybe that’s cliche, but I am very close to my mom. She had 3 kids by the time she was 19 years old and since then has been an incredible mother, wife, and now has a blossoming career. She is incredibly strong and beautiful in every sense.

10. If you could only ever listen to one song, what would it be?

This is too hard. Can I pass? I’m gonna pass. This question made my heart hurt haha.

The Instagram Tag

Hey lovelies,

Today I have a tag post! I haven’t done one of these in a bit, and this was sitting in my drafts and it looks fun! I don’t think anyone tagged me to do this, but I wanted to do it anyway. Instagram is probably my favorite social media platform. I’m a very visual person, and I feel that I can learn a lot about people solely based on the pictures they take and display on the internet. If you pay close attention, you can probably find out what someone loves, even if they only post product flatlays.

What’s in their flatlay? A cup of coffee? What magazine or book are they reading? If you follow me on Instagram already, you’ll notice that I typically have some sort of flower and/or pearls in my flatlays. It’s my own vintage touch. I use a lot of reds, black, and neutrals in my photos, and I know that transcends into blog posts and personality. Just something to ponder next time you’re aimlessly scrolling on Instagram.

#beautyblogger This one is a favorite for obvious reasons. I really love scouring the photos of fellow bloggers and finding inspiration myself and neat things to read!

#dupethat I’m a diva on a budget and I really love some of the dupes I have found through this hashtag.

#trendmood This hashtag is where I drool over all the new makeup releases and upcoming releases. My bank account hates this hashtag.

#kittens Because…cats.

#huskies Because…puppies.

5. What is your favourite genre of pictures?

Oh, I love pictures of all sorts. I love photos of kids, flatlays of makeup and beauty products, pets…

I really love getting peaks into others lives and interests.

6. How often do you post?

I try to post once a day or once every few days. Most of the photos on my instagram are just makeup pictures that I love to take 🙂

7. How often do you check Instagram?

Pretty often, to be honest. My longest times on Instagram are in the morning and when I go to bed, but I also check it every time Piper nurses.

Breastfeeding sessions = shameless Instagram scrolling times

8. What’s your favourite filter?

I actually don’t use filters often. I tend to brighten my photos through Afterlight. If I do use a filter it’s Aden, and even then I tone it down quite a bit. I’m a bit more simple with my lighting and posts, normally.

9. iPhone only, purist or rebel?

…wut? Most of my Instagram photos are from my iPhone if that’s what this question is about.

The Blush Addict Tag

Hey lovelies,

Today I have a tag post regarding one of my favorite things to collect and hoard…blushes! I saw this tag on Katie’s page at Plus+ Beauty and knew I had to do this one.

I can’t leave the house with my brows and my blush. I’m super fair, so a bit of color in my cheeks livens my face up a bit and makes me look more awake. I mean, I guess I could do the “cheek pinching” trick, but there’s something about pinching my own cheeks that brings back bad family reunion memories *shudders*

Anyway, on to the questions.

What color blush suits your most?
I feel like cool toned pinks and light peachy nude shades suite me the most.

Pressed, cream or loose blush?
I’ve honestly never cared much for loose blush, and I’m just now dabbling into cream blushes unless you consider Colourpop blushes to be a cream. Most of my collection is pressed.

Favorite shimmery blush?

Probably my CityColor Cosmetics Baked blushes. They are soooo pretty and pigmented.

Favorite matte blush?

Kat Von D Everlasting blush in “essex.” It’s such a pretty deep rose shade and is my go to blush in the fall and winter.

Favorite cream blush?

Colourpop blushes are a very “cream to powder” texture, so I will say them. I really love these blushes. They’re bouncy and pigmented. They’re also very affordable! However, I have been trying a cream blush from Becca that I got off of glambot, and so far I am really impressed by it! I will update on that later!

Favorite drugstore blush?

This was a bit hard for me because I love Milani blushes, but I also reach for my pearlescent pink by Wet n Wild more than any other blush in my collection. I feel like these blushes need more attention in the blogging world. They’re awesome for the price!

Favorite high end blush?

My Kat Von D everlasting blushes. These really do last forevvvver on my skin and it doesn’t take much at all. That and the packaging is absolutely stunning. So worth the $25. There’s a reason why so many shades of these are constantly sold out on sephora.com

Biggest blush disappointment?
Probably the elf studio line blushes. Everyone raves about those blushes and I just find them to be underwhelming and they don’t last long on my skin. I do like the $5 mineral line blushes by elf though.

Best blush packaging?
I would have to say the Milani Rose blush packaging or the Too Faced blushing hearts packaging. Both are so cute and end up in so many of my blog photos.

What’s on your blush wishlist?
More Colourpop blushes and more Nyx HD blushes

Holy grail blush?
I guess I would say my Wet n Wild “pearlescent pink” blush because it’s my “go to” but I don’t have one that I love way more than any other. “Love Song” by Kat Von D has been my go to Spring color though along with Nyx’s “Dusty Rose.”
I just really really love blush.

One Palette, Five Looks: Innerstellar Palette

Hey lovelies,

I was tagged by the lovely Kaily at Someday Sunny quite some time ago to create 5 different looks using one palette. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to do this tag, I didn’t know what palette I wanted to use for a hot minute. I wanted to use something that I love and haven’t used as much lately, but is still available.

After much thought, I went with the Kat Von D Innerstellar palette. Why? Well, for one it’s one of my favorite palettes. The galaxy type colors inspire me in a big way, and I feel this palette is very versatile and has a great mix of mattes and shimmers. It’s also limited edition and with the release of Kat Von D’s summer collection coming up in July, I don’t know how much longer this palette will be available. So, I wanted to show how gorgeous it is in one dedicated post for those that might still be on the fence about it, or don’t use cool toned shadows often. If you’re unfamiliar with this palette, I will link my review with swatches and all of the names at the end of this post along with Kaily’s original post.

This palette is super cool toned. It is the coolest (officially my worst pun) but it is so gorgeous, so without further adieu, let’s move on to the 5 looks I did.

Look one: a simple daytime look.

Transition shade: Killing Moon Base and eyebrow shade: Lycan

Crease: Astrological

Inner corner shade: Dios

Lower Lash Line: Nude liner in the water line, Killing Moon and Astrological blended out

Lashes: Kiss #11

Lips: Nyx “Enamored” contour is actually “Vast” from the Innerstellar palette and blush is “prenup” by Colourpop.

Look two: a dramatic vampy look

Transition shade: Vast Lid shades: Moonshine on the entire lid and Night Crawler blended out on the outside

Water line is Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in “Black Velvet” smoked out with Vast and 3am. Inner corner “flick” created with Night Crawler and a small angled brush and filled in with Moonshine. Lashes are Kara #WSP

Lips: Nyx Simply Vamp in “Temptress”

Blush is ‘LoveSong” by Kat Von D and highlight is Colourpop’s “Hippo”

Look three: Smokey eye with no winged liner

Transition shade: vast Lid shades: Darkstar and Lunacy

Used Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in Black Velvet on the lash line and smoked it out with Night Crawler and applied Kiss #11 lashes. Brow bone is Lycan.

Lash line is Vast, Killing Moon, and Darkstar smoked out and blended together.

Contour is Vast from Innerstellar.

Blush is Colourpop’s “Prenup” and Face and inner corner highlight is Colourpop’s “Hippo”

Lips are Lasplash “Ghoulish”

Look four: galaxy inspired. This is probably my favorite look. I’m happy with how this one turned out.

Transition shade: Killing Moon

Lid Shades: 3am on outside and inside corners.

Middle of the lid: Dios and Moonshine together applied with my finger

Blended out the entire shape using Orion.

Water line liner is Bellapierre’s gel liner in “Ebony” and 3am, Killing Moon, and Orion are blended out on the lower lash line.

Lashes are Kara #43.

Lips are Kat Von D “Lovecraft”

Cheeks are Nyx’s blush in “Taupe” and Kat Von D’s blush in “Lovesong.”

Highlight is Elf’s baked highlight in “Moonlight Pearls”

Look five: Would it be a post by me if I didn’t add a look with a raccoon-esque feel and odd lip color? Probably not.

For this look I applied Maybelline’s color tattoo in “tough as taupe” on the outer and inner corners on the top lid, and messily ran it on the lower lash line as well. The key word for this look was “messy”

Transition/blending shade: Astrological

Outer/Inner corner shade: Night Crawler

Middle shade: Moonshine

Lower lash line: astrolgical and killing moon blending far down to create that killer raccoon smokey eye.

Brow shade: Lycan

Liner and lashes: Physicians formula eye booster pen, Kiss #11 lashes

Contour: Nyx blush in “taupe”

Blush: Wet n Wild “Pearlescent Pink”

Highlight: Elf “Moonlight Pearls:

Lips: Manic Panic’s “After Midnight” topped with Kat Von D’s “Poe.”

I know this look isn’t for everyone. I wanted to add a bit of my own pizazz in though.

Anyway, those are my five looks for this lovely and fun tag! I’m not going to tag anyone in particular, and here’s why…I think this is something everyone that has an abundance of eyeshadow palettes should do. This tag actually re-sparked my love for this palette, and I haven’t been able to put it down even after doing these looks! I actually want to do this with more palettes in my collection. It’s a fun challenge to create different looks with the same palette. It forced me to use different bases, techniques, and color combinations. I even learned that the shade “Vast” doubles as an amazing contour shade for paler skin tones. Seriously, if you own this palette, try it as a contour.

1. What’s your favorite lip product – like ever!!

I am obsessed with matte liquid lipsticks. I own so many and from a lot of different brands. I like how I can apply them and not think too much about how they’re going to look in an hour. They don’t get on my teeth and I really love how matte lipstick looks.

2. If you could live anywhere in the world… Where would it be?

Probably Sweden. I really love cold weather and there’s just something so captivating about Sweden. That’s probably going to be a weird answer to a lot of people, but I could live anywhere cold, to be honest.

3. What is your favorite clothing line?

I don’t really have one haha. I wear a lot of things from Forever 21 and Rue 21, but I’m a jeans and tee kind of gal.

4. What’s your favorite movie?

I have a lot of favorite movies. Some of the ones I mention a lot are Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Donnie Darko, and Black Swan.

5. What’s your favorite flower?

Roses! Any and all roses. I have them tattooed on me and I buy almost anything rose scented. I also adore sunflowers though.

6. Do You have a pet?

I have a siberian husky and maine coon kitty.

7. What’s your favorite Perfume?

I don’t wear a lot of perfume, but I love “Scandolous” by Victoria’s Secret and “Sinner” by Kat Von D (even though it’s discontinued! my heart is BROKEN)

1. What is the one product you’d grab if your house was on fire?
Slightly morbid question, but if I could get one makeup item in between making sure my family was safe I suppose I would choose my Kat Von D Innerstellar palette. Or my Jeffree Star lipsticks.

2. Which beauty vlogger would you want to do your makeover?
Probably Bailey from Baileybeautyxo. I love her style and she so talented and creative.

3. What celeb do people think you look like?
I get Christina Ricci often…? That and Natalie Dormer. I think it’s my nose.

4. What beauty product do you save for date night?
Date night is when I whip out all of my high end makeup and slather it on my face at the same time.

5. Which of your guy friends take longer than you to get ready?
I don’t really have any “guy friends” now that I’ve had kids, but one of my little brothers takes foreeeeevvvver to get ready.

6. If you could create your own miracle beauty product, what would it be?
Not too sure. Probably a foundation brand that caters to literally every individual and has more than 5 color choices. I feel that way too many makeup brands start right in the middle with foundations and then don’t go much further than that, and that’s not how skin works. It bugs me.

7. What’s your best beauty tip?
I actually have quite a few. One of my favorites is spraying my foundation brush with water to sheer out very thick foundation. Or heating up crappy liners with a lighter for a few seconds to help them apply easier.

8. What beauty products do you love to splurge on?
I splurge on foundations and lipsticks, usually.

9. Which beauty vloggers would you bring on a shopping spree?
Probably Estee (Essiebutton) and Jaclyn Hill. They just seem to know their shit.

10. What is your signature scent?
It’s a toss up between vanilla and roses. I love the smell of both, and I like to smell like either…or both. I’m a huge fan of rose water and smelling like baking products.

11. I am on an endless quest for the perfect…
FOUNDATION. Either it’s too dark, too yellow, or looks cakey on my skin. No foundation has ever been the right everything on me. So. Frustrating.

12. How many beauty products does it take to get you ready?
Pleading the 5th on this question because I am too lazy to even count how many. Trust me, it’s more than enough.

13. What lipstick/lipgloss is in your purse right now?

I typically keep a good mix of balms, glosses, and lipsticks in my purse. Just in case. I gotta have options.

14. Who is your celebrity beauty icon?
Dita Von Teese. Her makeup is so flawless and classic. I need to know what pale princess products she uses as well. Le Sigh. I’m also a huge fan of Kat Von D though. She goes above and beyond and seems to always think outside the box. Is Kat Von D considered a celebrity?

15. Name the beauty brand you’d most love to be a spokesperson of.
Probably Kat Von D or Too Faced. I truly love almost everything they come out with from the packaging to the product. Very fun and creative brands.

16. What’s your current nail polish?

I’ve been loving these little babies. So great and incredibly affordable.

17. Favorite mascara right now?
I’ve been loving the Physicians Formula eyelash extensions kit and my Maybelline lash sensation.

18. The last thing you bought at Sephora?
I bought Kat Von D’s Everlasting Lipstick in “Vampira” during their last restock.

19. I try never to be seen without wearing…
I can’t be seen without my brows. I was not blessed with naturally full brows. That and without concealer I look like a living Tim Burton character, so I have to put on a bit of concealer and powder.

20. What’s one beauty product you always recommend?
The one I always find myself recommending is Manic Panic’s dream tone foundation in white for my fellow pale warriors. I also recommend having at least one red lipstick that makes you feel radiant and confident.

I saw this tag, and it was just calling my name. Lipstick is my favorite makeup related thing to talk about!
As usual, I tag anyone and everyone that wants to participate. Join the dark side and talk about lipstick with me 😀

It’s the first day of March! Anyone else ready for the snow to melt and for Spring to arrive? I actually like Spring minus the pollen. Like early Spring…cool mornings and warm afternoons. I just wish my allergies weren’t so terrible. Thinking about flowers makes me sneeze. Anyway, here are my answers for this tag! I had fun with this one 🙂

How many lipsticks do you own?
Okay, I’m not going to count but I do know I probably own 150 or more lipsticks. I know that seems obscene, but I do collect them and it’s been over a time span of a few years. My love for lipstick is legit.

What was the first lipstick you owned?
Not sure, but the first one that I recall wearing often was Revlon’s “Love that Red.”

What is your favourite lipstick brand?
I don’t think I have an absolute favorite, but my two favorites right now are Kat Von D and LaSplash. Those seem to be the ones that I reach for the most. I do have some Jeffree Star lipsticks coming to me though, so those may become my new favorites.

What is your most worn lipstick?
Probably “Lumiere” by Colourpop and “Lolita” by Kat Von D. This is always changing though.

What is your favourite finish?
Matte, definetely. I think I have said that several times on my blog. Matte lipsticks last longer and I don’t have to worry about them getting on my teeth and sliding everywhere.

What is the last lip product you bought?
I bought the bundle of 3 colors during the Jeffree Star restock. Yes, I was one of the lucky ones that snagged one since they sold out in record time. It’s okay to be jealous of me just this one time…because I’m rarely that lucky during releases.

How many lip products do you currently have in your handbag? (including balms and glosses)
Uh…7. 3 lipsticks, 2 glosses, and 2 balms. I should probably clean my purse out…

How do you store your lipsticks?
I have an acrylic lipstick holder on my vanity, a makeup bag with ones that I don’t wear often, and the rest are displayed on shelves above my vanity. You know how Carrie Bradshaw is about her shoes and how she’s proud of them and displays them? That’s how I am with lipstick.

Which lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?
I have a few favorite reds right now:

What lip product are you currently lusting over?
Any and all liquid lipsticks. Also, Kat Von D is about to release a new limited edition lipstick line and I really hope she picks to put them in white studded tubes. My heart will explode and so will my bank account, but I will be happy.
